Maybe I just have extremely awful luck… Actually, I know I do. But that’s beside the point, maybe. Still. I’ve noticed that we have ways of getting tons of gear. Rings and Trinkets made up to 420 in Mechagon and Benthic Armor that can go to what? 430ish or more with the pearl upgrades? What about weapons. The only weapons I seem to really find available are the ones that I have to grind and hope I get from Mythic’s or LFR/LFG/Raiding if I want one half worth a crap. I’d count the 415’s from that -one- WB in Nazjatar, but as my main and alts discovered, all I got from those guys was Gold and Azerite with my bonus rolls… Which lemme tell ya, was mighty disappointing.
Am I missing something here for weapon acquisitions? I’d like to get more weapons for my alts and offspecs, but I can’t ever get the damn things to drop and to make matters worse, I never see a weapon cache emissary reward anymore either. Is there an easier way to get weapons than rolling constant Mythics/Raids in the hopes of getting a decent weapon anymore?

You get a 415 weapon by capping conquest for the first time. Doesn’t take too long.

I did not know that, thanks for the heads up. It looks like it’s 410 for me, but hey, that’s still a good upgrade for me. I appreciate the heads up. Now just to find time to pug through enough bg’s to get it since I pretty much play solo. lol

Regular bg’s are just groups of solo players, you’ll be fine

True, but, like for me, it has no relevance to my spec. (Fist wep and im sin spec)
I got a cool chainsaw sword last night. Wasn’t better than what I had, but it will make a nice transmog piece for my gnome DK or my goblin rogue.

If only xmogs got you in raids…
Weapons have always been scarcer than armor. They usually come from instanced content and can be in the weekly PVP chest.

Weapons are the biggest upgrade to your character and they’re about as rare as unicorns. Blizzard made it feel as awful as they could going from super powerful and cool artifact weapons to super rare drops.

Not necessarily true. Legion had a great weapon system (I think) and in WoD we had the Apexis Crystal Weapons we could upgrade and buy to at least have some decent weaponry when that patch came out for HFC. Of course, Instanced stuff will always be better, especially if it forges. But, like Blackthore up there. Some of my toons are boned.
Legion had a single weapon per spec. You received it as a quest and never switched out of it. You used the same weapon for two years. You could get Relics to improve its item level. The best relics came from instanced content. You could also earn appearances for them but they were the same weapon you had at level 100.
The Apexis Crystals were a departure from the normal scheme of things.
And yes, there are weapon drops in the world during older expansions. These are often common quality and of not much use once you get to the maximum level. Except for the very rare exception, then you bought crafted weapons or ran instances for better weapons. This has been norm since 2004. BFA is following this same pattern.

It appears as a fist weapon but you get to choose a dagger if you’d like when you get it.

I noticed this also. I can get armor till the cows come home but finding a weapon is almost impossible. And if you use two weapons like a rogue you are up sh!@s creak because I can never find two weapons. Or even worse, the WQ’s offer an off-spec weapon. WQ weapons should ALWAYS be for the spec you are in at the moment not some off-spec I never use or rarely use.

I agree, but I don’t raid unless I absolutely have to for a quest or I can solo it.
Hardly. It’s always been this way. Legion just made people forget.
Longest I’ve gone without seeing or winning a weapon drop from current content, not counting the PvP weapons I relied on to stay relevant? 5 years. For 5 years, only weapon upgrades I ever saw came from arenas.

Is there a problem with that, though? I much prefer to know I can realistically expect my BiS for an activity COMING from that activity.
You must not have been doing any pve content. I can’t believe that you regularly did pve content for 5 years and never gotten a single upgrade.
I know weapon drops are bad but they’re not THAT bad.

I raided MC through the first half of AQ40 in vanilla, everything through T5 in BC, and everything through ICC in Wrath. I got a Zin’rokh in 2006, and I won a mace to offhand in the last half of ICC, and in between that, I got nothing that wasn’t from either crafting or conquest. The drop rates weren’t that bad, my luck was.
When you actually go to turn it in, you choose from a list of weapons. The one in the pvp lfg screen is just an example. So you can choose whatever you want to fit your spec.
