So like how the game always was and always has been?
there’s no mercing in classic to save you, either.
I didn’t have it in Vanilla and got to enjoy myself playing Horde.
I suspect Horde would have a slightly higher queue time even with perfect faction balance across all realms, simply because more horde players tend to be interested in PVP than alliance.
I also suspect horde have a higher pop than alliance even when considering all servers at the moment. Not a massive difference in numbers but probably enough to add a couple of min to the queue.
I’d put my money on a 5 to 10 min queue time for horde. We’ll find out tomorrow though I suppose.
Level of interest in a choice of content.
Alliance are more PVE oriented even on PVP servers; you can see it in how they choose to PVE vs how they choose to PVP.
When it comes to PVE they are 120% dedicated to BiS everything full consumables etc…
When it comes to PVP they just kinda show up and are often still in PVE gear (like warriors in leather) using a PVE build…
The half way effort put forth by alliance should be all you need to see where this is going.
However there is more; Additionally Alliance love sitting around in IF while the horde are out doing battle in Black rock mountain… although its not much of a battle when its 120 vs 10…
Additionally the Horde PVP for the sake of PVP because its FUN…
Alliance on the other hand look at PVP as a path for character progression…
As you can see they’re very different…
At best you can expect alliance participation in BG’s for maybe a couple months until they have min-maxed the items they wanted from PVP and then return to PVE.
there’s some nice items to get from the vendors, yes. then i imagine horde’s queues will go up dramatically.
That’s possible, actually.
Latest numbers show alliance has a small advantage, but nothing to write home about.
- queues are too long
- my battlegroup is unfair for reason x y z
- a premade stomped my pug
- a person in raid gear stomped my blue geared alt
- something something class imbalance
- they didnt fix wsg climb spots
- they did fix wsg climb spots
- av is unfair to horde
… did i miss any?
Can I ask where you found those numbers? I had heard that the census addons were broken a couple of months ago. Did something change?
other than heartseeker all the alliance dominated realms are pve/rp realms. explain to me how there’s more alliance when most servers are pvp servers and almost all of them are horde dominate?
Correct, but it boils down to not only the numbers but the frequency of said PVP interested players Q’n up.
If you have 10 servers and 5 are PVP servers where 75% of the population of the PVP servers are Horde…
And 5 PVE servers where 75% of the population of the PVE servers are Alliance…
It’s a very safe bet that the PVP Servers are going to contain a higher % of players who would Q up regularly for BG’s.
As a result of such a very basic observation we can then assume safely that the Horde Q’s will be epic.
You could use the numbers from a few months ago. Not THAT much has changed.
More recently, addons learned to use the /who window’s calls to SendWho() to get the data. They also started farming clicks from normal player actions.
I hope they’re legendary.
Flamelash legendary…
AV queues will probably be the worst.
All US is in one battle group so there will no significant queues.
Even if there were queues that just means those players are going to go grief you in the open world.
Be careful what you ask for.
look at that beautiful paid character transfer heads up in these patch notes.
I don’t think the queues will be bad. So much BIS gear comes from BG reputation that people will be spamming them for days
My body is ready!
Hope to get some Queue time in before Raid, then after raid sit in queues.
Thank you for proving my point about the alliance…
Yeah I do agree that Alliance are more pve prone and look for BIS. Last night we had a Kazzak spawn and the alliance beat the horde in getting it. Alliance showed up en mass to fight for it. But once Kazzak was dead all these mage portals to IF and SW were opening up and the Alliance numbers fell drastically over the course of a few minutes, while the horde stayed to clean up the people that took their world boss kill.
It’s sad, but true.
