Tomes for Taming should be scrapped

From two expacs ago, take too long to farm. Just let everyone be able to tame undead, feathermanes, etc.

They did make mogging easier. Should be the same for hunter pets. The only ones who are usually against it are those suffering from ‘special snowflake’ syndrome, thinking that because they farmed it, that means they’re good or something.

Or at the very least make them account wide like druid forms

getting the tomes really takes no time at all
it’s not an especially tedious grind or anything

Then it should take even less time.

the idea is good, they just need to increase the droprate more in the world, or be related to a small questline.

I got the tome to tame undead pets on my way to the second boss in plaguefall dungeon, first dungeon, so i guess the droprate is great there for some reason

I been able get the Dinomancer and serpent dragons and gargons and thats it everything else i looked into getting and was like
nah seems like it take longer then grinding old rep or killing some rare with 100% drop rate. Rare Drops and completing a massive quest line is a huge pass and waste of time. Old content is still content but if the road to get it some the tomes is so stupid and feathermanes is probably the worst.

The Tome of the Hybrid Beast is especially tedious as it requires you to grind out the

You first need to be 45 to learn the ability, and you must have completed the Order campaign for Hunters, leading to the achievement A Glorious Campaign. Then the Legionfall quest campaign, leading to the achievement Breaching the Tomb.
Also, you must then complete a short scenario, Night of the Wilds , to earn your new Hunter class mount.

The other two tomes, How to School Your Serpent, and How to Train a Dragonkin, are annoying for having a reputation grind behind them.

Tome of Dinomancy, Gargon Training Manual, and Bone Binding were a chore when the content was current, but now that you can out level it it’s a small grind.

The requirements to tame some families add flavor to them, and feels more rewarding when you are able to tame them. However, it can be a a long chore beforehand.

Honestly i didn’t bother with then because the dragonkin seem lame and i didn’t had patience to do it.

Pets need a godamn overall again, or at least make it as a cosmetic thing, like before we could change pet family

there on different levels to in themselves since old regrinds of pandaria has old school easy grind with catchup stuff tossed in you can slay your way to exalted but the dragonkin will need a lot of questing and world quests to get that up though kill quest will be quick interactive quests will drag things out.

I did them when the expansion original released. I would farm dragon eggs for hours to get to exalted with the Order of the Cloud Serpent.

And this was before the whole “outline interactable objects” design came into place. It was rough looping the spawn points hoping to get there first.

hunters complain incessantly at how we dont get cool flavor or fantasy things, then when very class unique thing are added people complain they take too long to do. I don’t blame blizzard for not doing things like this very often tbh

I would agree if it were not that much of these “cool things” were not locked behind tedious reputation grinds or behind the vagaries of RNG.

For instance, on one hunter, I got the undead hunter pet tome on the first kill in Maldraxxus, on another hunter I leveled all the way to 70 in Shadowlands doing World Quests and never saw the drop.

As another instance, I went the whole life cycle of BFA and never got the Blood Beast tome until a bug reset Talaji’s Expedition rep and I returned to Nazmir to do World Quests until I got it back to exalted. Even then, it was a very high number of kills before RNG decided to gift me something I actually didn’t want.

Simply because you think tedious reputation grinds and RNG walls are fun, do not assume everyone finds them delightful and entertaining, especially when Blizzard keeps mouthing the words about “respecting players’ time”
 HA! As if.

Thats what we need.

The inverse is also true. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean everyone else doesn’t like it.

People can’t ask for flavorful fantasy things and then just want them to be very simple “here u go”

I remember it was easy back then. Just do regular stuffs
and we get them. These were our rewards for playing the content.

You were not there. For me, you should not have it. Game is gracious that you can still have it today. It was not free back then. It should not be free today.

The tomes low drop rate isn’t rly cool, so your comparison doesn’t hold well.

It would be better if it was a small questline.

I remember some weeks ago i did a small questline to tame a void wolf from draenor, great quest.

However, Blizzard has created special tames in more inventive ways. We had the challenge tames in Cata with the Mount Hyjal Spirit Beasts, and Molten Front Spiders.

Then in MoP there was the pets that required you to track them by foot prints. Also the challenge Spirit Beast Porcupines.

WoD there was a long quest line in order to tame Gara, and then We need to kill Fel Rangari Anaara because she drops the Vial of Fel Cleansing, which was a challenge.

Then just recent we had the thorn beasts that we need to firstly obtain a Thorn-Laden Heart. Next proceed to Drustvar in Kul Tiras and visit Athainne. Present the heart to her and she’ll give you some Moontouched Thorns. Then speak to Ulfar, and and he’ll give you a Thornspeaker Ritual Knife. With the knife, proceed to the Emerald Dream to kill the bear, cat, or deer. Also, Sul’raka who is a tracking tame.

They’re numerous examples of Blizzad make more creative pets than just farm rep until you are allowed to tame something.
