Received this trinket yesterday, March 10. Went to target dummy to test. Not sure if this is intended or not but here is what was found out by a raid tank (as I understand how the trinket is supposed to work):
Trinket works this way:
Gain 50 defensive stacks by taking damage, resets after gaining the 50 stacks
Gain 50 offensive stacks by taking damage, resets after getting the 50 stacks
Repeat the process
On-Use: Swap to other stacks phase
Suspected unintentional use:
When you log out and log back in, the offensive stacks remain. Then you start gaining defensive stacks while the offensive stacks REMAIN so you are being double buffed. The tank logged out yesterday March 10 and logged back in after reset March 11 and offensive stacks were still active and when tank started hitting target dummy, tank was getting the defensive stacks while still having the 37 offensive stacks from last night.
It’s a ~3% buff to tank damage for the first several minutes of the fight, especially if the tank is not actively tanking because the buff just stays unless your getting hit, as intended. It’s the double buff logging out and logging back in that I am curious about. It may only be a ~3% buff to tank damage because of the way the buff naturally seems to work but it seems there is a real chance it could be kept up for a super long time, which would not be intended, in a raid setting.
I hope this makes sense. Thoughts?
