so I saved all my gold over the last 6 months in anticipation of the expansion to buy tokens , why you ask ? because every single expansion launch since the tokens became a thing they have dropped in price dramatically at launch, they dropped during the Midnight prelaunch , but soon as this expansion started they have been rising in price, up almost 35k gold, so what gives??!

with all these shops popping up, token cost has gone down over recent years.

A token is like 20$. If you go mow a lawn you’ll have more tokens than you know what to do with lmao

It’s the stock market but only Blizzard profits.

You might get another dip when S1 starts, but I’d buy early. Usually expansion starts are when it’s low.

I’ve never seen the Token drop in price at launch since so many players are buying Gold to level their professions. Its usually lowest a couple of months before that when players are checked out of the last x-pac I’ve found.

Token prices dropped from a daily average of 300K to 250K and climbed back up to a high of 275K. IDK how you came to the conclusion that they went up unless you just haven’t been paying attention at all.

It’s worth pointing out that if tokens cost more gold, it’s because fewer players are selling them for gold than there are players buying them with gold. Players ‘buying gold’ with tokens is what drives the gold cost of tokens down, not up.

i get that , they dropped for prelaunch , and as they should, but the main launch has always dropped them further, not risen them

Probably should’ve bought them a couple days ago when they troughed to below 250k. I would’ve. But I didn’t have the gold.

even if it’s 100k it’s more than enough you’ll need for the whole expansion

I saw them under 250k within the last couple days which is a big drop from the ~300k they’ve been hovering around for a while
