The “toggle auto self cast” keybind has not been functioning since 10.0 first launched over a month ago. It just straight up doesn’t work at all, in any way.

Bumping. Also experiencing this bug out of no where, it is extremely annoying and unplayable.
I experienced this tonight as well. Very disorienting and annoying. Sometimes a reload fixes it, sometimes it doesn’t.
After some quick testing, this might be related to having the new “enable interact key” enabled. Try disabling and see if that fixes it, it seems to have fixed it for me so far.

Unfortunately, still not working for me.
I’m having the same problem as well. No addons, no macros. Just base UI with standard spells, and on 1-9.
All I get is a blue outline gauntlet, as if the game expects me to target something first–but I don’t want to, I want self cast by default. No workarounds.
Auto self cast is checked, no toggles set, interact key is not set. It just started about a week ago.
Huge +1 for your suggestion. Was levelling my shaman today, randomly my self cast heal and earth shield stopped. Tried reloading, rebooting, clicking self cast on/off etc, but your suggestion to turn off interact key (which I don’t use) fixed my problem. Thanks !
You need to try disabling or re-enabling any such options regardless of what status is shown on the screen. Just because something is checked or unchecked don’t mean it’s actually selected or deselected. Yes that’s another bug I’ve seen in some menus.
Toggling it off and on still doesnt enable it. Its real frustrating not know when its going to work or not and dying because a heal isnt going off because im not clicking myself when fighting mobs
This always seems to happen to me when I explode at the alchemy station. I’ll hit rejuv and it will heal literally everyone instead of me, even though I don’t have anyone targeted. I also do not have the new target the direction you’re facing option checked either so not sure why it does that. Very annoying.
well that worked for me, turning off interact key. self cast with slow fall works.
enable interact key, self cast slow fall fails. instead gives me selection cursor.
this behavior is inconsistent, some days it works, some days it doesn’t
Bumping this because it still happens a lot to me, like so SO many other bugs this xpac…
It seems to break right when I join or leave a group. I end up having to cast something on someone else to sometimes fix it. If not, then it requires a full restart of the game.
So many bugs this xpac, it’s embarrassing…

I get it when getting off my dragon alot and had it happen in a raid of all places.
Still happening as of today. I noticed that with the interact key enabled, when I had something targeted/highlighted for use, the auto self cast function wasn’t working. However, if I looked away to where nothing was highlighted for interact key use, the auto self cast worked as intended.
This bug is still happening. I first noticed it on my priest a few weeks ago and today on my shaman. I’ve tried toggling the various suggestions above on and off and sometimes that fixes it, sometimes it doesn’t.
Frustrating that this bug still exists.
how is this not fixed?
Still happening. Tired the suggestions here but still not working occasionally and only some characters not sure what the root cause is

Quick update, it also happens when no addons are enabled so just to head off that reply from any blue posts just in case
