I’m an old Vanilla Horde player, though and through. My mains back in the day were an Undead Warrior and an Orc Warlock. We were definitely the underdogs back in the day, since faction imbalance felt to be 3 to 1. Every Alliance player a jerk-for-brains. Every single one!
Back then, “For the Horde” meant something. Now, forget it!
Here’s the thing, I’m leveling both a Horde and Alliance character right now, and with my Troll Druid, in his 70s, I’ve only been ganked once. 70 levels, one time. And it technically wasn’t what you call a gank, since he was only 6 levels higher. And you could say it was a fair fight.
With my Ally toon I can say I am just about 5 times per level been ganked by a skull. Duskwood is almost constantly frequented by Horde 120s.
Seriously, what happened to the Horde I remember? Ganking I can handle. But I can’t help but to feel, you Horde today don’t DESERVE to be part of the Horde I once knew.
The best players back then were mostly Horde, Horde today are garbage. As simple as that!
I still personally blame Belves, I guess that’s where all the terrible Ally players from back in the day rerolled to.

I played in Vanilla. We had some good times in SSvsTM, but, even then high level ganking was frowned upon. I’m Metalinga, and I’m serious, you don’t deserve to be called Horde. Belves, get out!
Only because of dishonorable kills, and even then it still happened quite often. Also, I’m a Demon Hunter. I literally can’t be any Horde race other than Blood Elf, so trying to shame me on that basis is dumber than this thread’s premise.
Pssh. Maybe the Horde you remember and a few isolated holdovers from a bygone era. These days, our racial is in demand, even post-nerf, and nobody makes a better enchanter than a Blood Elf.
That’s rich coming from the Faction that QQ’ed so much about being stomped in War mode, that uncle Ion gave you free 400 gear if you could gank 25 of us at Flight Paths in raid groups.
Which is why you’re posting on an Alliance level 83, and somehow don’t remember that camping not just lowbies but lowbie towns by both factions was the norm in WPVP.
I just read a thread a couple of hours ago why no one wants to play DH on the DH forums. I just rolled my eyes and smirked at the whole thing. This game did perfectly fine for over a decade without your class.
If you left now, sorry to say, you wouldn’t be missed either.
Exactly you don’t know how many times when I was Alliance you would see in general chat looking for more to go raid the crossroads and that was in me see the Opie trying to say that Alliance had more honor is just not true when I was Alliance we my guild was probably one of the most known for PVP on my old server nobody ever bothered us
Vanilla was a different beast. You, as an Orc Hunter would turn 20, go into a contested zone, Ashenvale, let’s say, and within 10mins you’d get bum rushed by a countless number of allys, and absolutely wasted .
Later you’d find a group of Horde seeking vengeance, and then, the real WPvP would begin, as you go back and forth, back and forth, like SS and TM. And it would get so bad you’d see the game to start crashing, as you’d see corpses spinning on the ground after getting moonfired to death (remember that?).
Vanilla was an all out war.
Today, there’s no real war. I try to be observant. I see 120 Horde going to Darkshire, wasted all lowbies, then running away as other 120 Allys come in. And then wait until they’re gone to go back to ganking lowbies.
F-ing disgraceful! Nothing but straight up cowardice.
