Just a PSA that you should forget about the maintenance window being eight hours today, and just assume nothing will work until tomorrow given the 20-minute warband conversions that are going to take place for every person’s first login. I bet those will be bug-free.
Take the day off, relax, chill, etc., then try logging in after tomorrow’s maintenance.

This is very sound advice. Which will be ignored so just brace yourself for all the posts of people outraged over maintenance taking so long.
I have therapy at 11. A lunch at 1230. An afternoon meeting with the squirrels digging holes in my yard.
We’re expecting at least a 4 o’clock monsoon and follow that up with the great “what’s for dinner dad?” Debate that end in either tacos or pizza

I’m currently on vacation as my wife and I are doing final preparations for our vow renewal on Saturday. Going to lunch with my Dad and have an entire day of paying the rest of our vendors and baking for the event. Hopefully when I come home tonight I’ll be able to settle down and relax with the wife with dinner and a movie. I’ll check afterwards around 10 or 11pm est

Servers go down at 10pm in my time zone. I get a good night’s sleep, then go to work while they iron out the kinks

I’m on vacation this week. I will note, however, that I did not schedule my vacation around anything in WOW. I scheduled my vacation months ago, and it just happened to later line up with prepatch week. I’ve got plenty of other things to do. I’m planning on re-playing Metroid Dread today (started the other day, I’m up to the point where I’m about to release the X parasites).
