Today is the fourth day in a row I've not been able to get a key off the ground

I have a few hours to play most days. I’m sitting at 2100 rating and 614 ilvl. I’ve timed two +9s, and I have +7s timed for all other dungeons. My current key is a +8. For four days in a row, I’ve posted this key and have not been able to get a full party together for it within an hour’s time. I’ve also tried applying to other parties, but I can’t get invited to anything that’s above a +5 which really does nothing for me.

Today I finally got a full party together for my +8 MoTS. I had to take a slightly low ilvl/rating tank to get it done, but I was just so tired of waiting. Second boss of Mists, our tank pops Abomination Limb during Freeze Tag, and I don’t need to tell you what happens next. What happened next next was the healer just left without saying anything. At this point I was about 100 minutes into my gaming session for the day on the fourth day of trying to get this key done, and I still hadn’t really accomplished anything.

I get this might come across as whiny, and that’s not my intention. I really like this game. I’m not going to bore you with my history, but I’ve been around (come and go) since vanilla, and I have a much larger attention span for games like this than most people. Each season I enjoy pushing AOTC completion w/ a few mythic kills and climbing M+ to whatever level Blizz has decided the highest rewards should come from that season. However, even I’m starting to feel like M+ just isn’t worth the time investment. If I feel this way, I’m sure others are as well. In fact, I’m the only person left in my friend group still participating in M+. They log on purely for raids and just do a hand full of delves a week. I think that’s where I’m headed as well. I don’t want to project my experience across everyone else’s, but I can’t help but feel like this isn’t sustainable. I don’t think folks are going to continue paying $15/month for a Rejection Lobby Simulator.

Yeah. The irony, right? I’m usually the person giving that advice to people, and I typically only push my own key.

what is the intention really ? people have preferences and picks. i have the same solutions , level a tank , work on networking and have a solid group , lower your expectations that people just don’t sign up for harder content , they just want to chill. People are burnt out after two months of grind and terrible pugging experience.

personally I did these two , leveled this prot warrior and also tried to have a guild group. the first part is working better , although you sacrifice your play style for the overall experience but you can sneak in you dps spec. the second one is harder since your schedule or skill may not work with other members . at this point you need to put the effort in, signing up for pugging is not enough in 2024

I’ve been there with Abomination Limb myself. Same thing with the second boss in Grim Batol and exploding fire elementals.

While it’s important for all of us to remember our abilities can have negative effects, it happens. We’re so used to our rotations that sometimes we just forget.

Sorry it happened, and I know that guy is sorry too.

And don’t get me started on why my Horsemen decide to attack random things that I haven’t even targeted (sleepy trash group in GB) and causing wipes.

I think you are investing too much time actually. You are far ahead of where most people are at. The people who are playing at your level are mostly in organized groups/guilds.

The pug community is largely still at m0 or +2. You are trying to hard core the content in a pug environment as a dps. So, of course, you are having problems. The pug world needs a few more weeks to get where you are that. Even then, most won’t past +5.

You’d be better served to find a guild or a dedicated group. The path you are on will not lead to success.

There has to be a better system. I know M+ers hate the idea of a queue system but what if the system took into account IO score, dungeons timed and the amount of time a player left a key in consideration before matchmaking?

Yeah I know, lust and all that—blizz should revert the nerf on drums and if you’re a serious M+er you’ll have drums on you anyway.

It’s still not going to work if the system pairs up classes that have no decent utility. The content would have to be nerfed.

I have warrior-brain charged into the elemental targeting me in Grim Batol.
I have also heroic leaped out of a knockback into said elemental too.

Stupid mistakes punish the entire group very strongly this season. We’re all guilty of it. :frowning:

Challenger’s Peril is stupid toxic too. No idea what Blizzard was thinking here…

That is a heavy key…

It’s really annoying because you can’t trust score or ilvl at all.
It helps, but not much.

Idk how many 2k players I’ve invited to 6’s and 7’s and I’ve only managed to time a few 6’s and 1 7. And the culprit?
2k+ people at 610ish pulling 500-600k dying to basic mechanics.
Like yup… that’s a puddle. Hey look a cone!

Or like you mentioned, freeze tag or even killing the wrong one. Like 5’s and prior, that’s almost expected. But you’d think in the 6-7 range, people would somewhat have a clue. Especially at 2k+.

Better start convincing the devs to create a queue system that does all this, before trying to convince players they should want to use it.

Mythic is beyond toxic, hyper elitist by just observing from the outside.

Whole system needs an overhaul.

It’s compounded by people just wanting carries, which make the “elitists” become even more so.
You try really hard to push your keys for a few weeks and see how you feel by the end of it lol.

Although I believe I could do mythics with friends and maybe survive one or two in a pug, I will not subject anyone outside of my delve and lfr to my random 500ms pings.
