TOD bugged in delves?

I started delves finally but am noticing that my TOD is not proccing sometimes. Just did last boss of Fungal Folly and almost died on the last boss because I was not expecting it not to work. My single target is still a little bit lackluster and was counting on that finishing move to help with the fight.

This isn’t a delve bug, it’s been a problem for years now. ToD will just randomly not work sometimes, for weeks at a time, then it will go back to working properly for a few weeks, then not work again. If it’s so frequent its disrupting gameplay I’ve found completely exiting the game and restarting it can sometimes get it to work fine for a while. I have noticed that it hasn’t been as pervasive lately as it’s been in the past. It was noticeably worse in DF and S1 of WW.

I have a theory as to what’s happening, just based on what little I know about mmo netcode and having similar issues in other games, but it’s just speculation so I won’t get into it here.

Okay thank you for the information. This is the first time I’ve experienced this.

Nice to know I’m not the only one, I thought it was an addon or something causing this and couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t activate properly when an enemy met the HP threshold.

Something I forgot to add before, but it’s important. Sometimes the mob’s physical model doesn’t properly represent their range for being hit with melee, and sometimes the mob’s range for being hit with melee is actually much bigger than their range for being touched, but it’s also not entirely consistent. The most glaring example of this is Loom’ithar. She’s huge so you can hit her with melee stuff even standing a yard or so outside of her circle, but usually for ToD you have to practically crawl inside of her behind for it to register that you’re in range.

When I logged in the next day it was working again.

ToD breaks often and just kinda gets derpy when trying to use it.

Also WTF happened to MW’s ToD, it barely tickles the Xal affix unless I drop Fort brew first for more health. Sadge
