So rolling on everything possible? So if that’s one of your arguments Paladins, Shamans, and Druid Healers shouldn’t roll on Cloth +healing gear?
I don’t actually understand that part of the argument from you?
I have nothing against Tanks just people who think because they are a tank they are better than everyone else and feel the need to purposely not invite a certain spec/class.
That’s like a Holy Priest refusing to group with a Shadow Priest? Even though the Shadow will help the holy with party heals. Or refusing to group with an Enhance shaman even though he brings buffs for Melee and totems.
The argument won’t be solved because we have people thinking they can tell others what spec to play and if they don’t fit what they feel they should be then they are the bad guy. And that’s just not how the game should work. DPS Warriors aren’t wrong for being DPS, same with Feral Tanks, Enhance Shamans, Balance Druids.
I personally think it’s a garbage thing to roll outside your armor proficiency if someone else in the group of that armor proficiency can use that piece of gear. I am not here to tell people they shouldn’t/can’t do it, but that it’s not happening in groups that I form (by nature of who I choose to invite). While not exclusive to DPS Warriors, they tend to be the most entitled.
I understand Classic WoW itemization isn’t fantastic, but the entitlement to be able to roll on multiple amor proficiencies “because BIS” when other classes do not have that luxury is a pretty raw deal.
Again, I’m not saying you can’t/shouldn’t do it. Form your own groups, suit up in leather, roll up in full cloth. Good on you. I’m just not letting the other classes in my groups get screwed over by a DPS Warrior who is rolling on everything. My group. My choice.
Pally/Shaman/Druid healers don’t apply in my situation since my wife is my pocket healer and is always my healer.
A group I ran the other day included a shadow priest and a ret paladin. It was great. Everyone rolled their armor proficiency. Ret paladins tend to be pretty chill folks. I just hate most of DPS warrior mentalities, so I don’t risk it.

To be honest it’s your mentality that is garbage. WoW Classic Itemization is terrible. Hunter’s and enhance shamans wear some Leather. Warrior’s wear some Mail, so do Rets.
You have Retail mentality I understand now.
Whatever pejorative you pick to vilify me is fine with me. I still build groups to my preference, because I myself form those groups. It’s my choice. For those DPS Warriors who find it tougher than usual to find groups, this thread demonstrates why.
I wouldn’t argue against that; it definitely can be the case, though not always, and it often doesn’t matter anyway
he stated the problem. DPS doesnt have to worry about leading, pacing, and learning the dungeon. He just, well, Dps’s. And as such, should not roll on tank gear that is needed by the tank, especially if he didnt ask before hand. You want tank gear? then tank, clear as day. As for the tank wanting DPS gear, most tanks in 5 mans are tanking for their DPS gear. Tank gear just makes it easier for them and the group to get gear.
I mean… there’s only one healer so if they’re rolling as a healer they have no competition anyway regardless of the proficiency…
Unless you’re saying give a shadow priest who may never heal the Baron chest over the Paladin healer who healed you through the whole instance, that’s just silly.
The healer threads are all literally about 2H Tanking in Berserker stance when it makes no sense, you arent geared, and arent out leveling the dungeon. No healer thread ive ever seen has said “We wont take a leveling Warrior unless they are prot” literally ever.
Nice “excuse” tho breh.
Excuse for what, exactly? Rolling a DPS Warrior is exactly the same as rolling a Mage. Best DPS in the game. People who don’t want to tank don’t tank. I didn’t tank in Vanilla, I’ve never even run a single dungeon in Classic let alone tanked. Not my fault Blizzard made Warriors the only hybrid class with two viable specs. Enjoy healing.
U are exactly right about this issue, especially during leveling when a warrior does not need full protection talent to tank. What they typically do is not learning any protection abilities at all to save money for their mount. Even if they have those skills, they refuse to tank cuz dpsing is just an easier job…
A different case can be made for higher level warrior cuz they need to fit into their raid group roles, but during leveling, these acts are just annoying…
