Because the only positive is that it’s sticking it to the elitists
The game has homogenization because of restrictions like covenants/conduits.
When players can’t test things out for themselves, they’ll just do whatever the websites tell them to do - and then everyone is doing the same thing.
Boring.
Players would enjoy actually being able to make choices, especially when we change content types and specs/roles.
It exists in both.
Pick what raidbots/logs say is best and go for most players.
But players who actually like finding what’s best and most fun for them get squatted on.
The restrictions push them to the websites when not only would they prefer to test things out for themselves, but part of the fun in the game is doing exactly that.
That goes away with the restrictions, and nothing is added even for the RP enthusiasts.
OP please. Get a Grip.
In order to maximize the great vault, you must do lots of different content:
Raids, Dungeons, PVP.
Each type of content, allows the player to play a bit differently, and in some cases the desired spec, talents, and abilities used for each type of content will be very different. And I’m confident that conduit builds are going to be very different between raids, dungeons, and pvp.
Which leads to Blizzard’s asinine conduit restrictions. The week long cooldown was a terrible idea, but the new compromise is just as terrible. I just don’t understand the philosophy here. Just why? Why should this be any different from how we changed Essences? Are you really trying to take “Meaningful choice” that much further? Can anyone from Blizzard come to the forums and explain WHY they think this is necessary or good? It just seems counter intuitive to not only what is required to maximize the great vault, but also player fun.
Here is the simple fix Blizz. I’ll make this easy for you. Just open it up. Just allow conduits to be changed at any rest area and make the players happy.
And there are people that want to play with those choices.
