Ridiculous that warmode was the fix but it did indeed work after zoning back in.

I was only able to click on the first 2 of the 3 items. Cannot take the batteries. Already tried reloaduing ui, relogging, dropping and taking quest again. Any ideas?
It just worked for me. I saw a post by EthanPog on Wowhead and here what it said :
For all those struggling with getting the Overcharged Battery, I believe you have to somehow get a server swap in order to be able to pick up the item. Try some combination of turning War Mode off and on, logging out, abandoning the quest, and getting in a party with a player not on your layer. I tried many times and all sorts of combinations, it may not be guaranteed on your first attempt. My successful combination was
- Abandoning the quest
- Logging out at Siren Isle and closing the game
- Logging back in and completing the quest up to the Battery part (I took it as slow and careful as possible following the second npc and listening to the entire dialogue)
- Go to Dornogal to turn War Mode on
- Go back to Siren Isle and see the sweet interact hand of relief
I have no idea how many of these portions are necessary. Going by all the comments I’ve seen it can be fixed via only turning War Mode off or on so I would try that first.
Until Blizzard fixes this the best we have is each other. Good luck out there.
My notes : I tried enabling the war mode on before following his directions and it did not work for me with just the war mode on. So I believe the steps are important. Also, after I followed the second NPC, I interacted with him and clicked on “stay and listen”. I listen to their dialogue and then went to Dornogal to enable war mode on and when I came back I could finally click on the last item for the quest.

It is unfortunately bugged for me as well, I tried for three days straight to pick the item up, yet it says ‘SPELL NOT LEARNED’ I have no idea you needed a spell to pick stuff up but hopefully it gets fixed.
My husband has been turning warmode on & off, redoing the quest, & zoning in & out w/no luck. I had him do the quest in this exact order & it worked perfectly the first time. Thank you SO MUCH!!!
I had this on my character when I saw the fix for the earthen prototype go in. Abandoning the quest and logging out and back in fixed that.
I assume the hotfix was for the earthen prototype was made but not the battery so keep posting folks, and hopefully blizz sees this by Monday.
Since it’s the weekend and I’m assuming devs don’t work on the weekend, try war mode and the above methods!
I’m still have the issue as well. Tried it on both my characters. Logged on and off. Dropped the quest and started it again. It’s still not fixed. Please address the issue appropriately.
This was bugged for me a few hours ago. I logged out for a few hours and just tried on lunch - it’s working now.
