To people saying if 10.0 will flop that WoW will die

Between Blizzard and ATVI, they have a veritable army of lawyers and legal folks whose job is to do just that.

Those same lawyers likely tell them “Eh, its not worth the paperwork to fight this crap.”

I do enjoy watching people try and fight the internet.

Private servers cost money too.
And a lot of games “had” private servers before they died, which once they did, were no more too.

Two of the examples I cited are among them.

At the end of the day, the worse enemy of any game is its players.

That is the one thing, if any, FF is trying to avoid, not many games do. They welcome new players, do whatever they can to get new ones. But in many cases, the success in doing so is the worse thing they could do.

Some games which are surviving better are the ones which do not follow the players, but they have the “cult following”. The players who actually wont join the game with much hope, and wont blame the game for not living up to any. Those games are the ones which last longer, and WoW missed the unique opportunity it had to make a player base that albeit quite smaller, would play the game though their whole lives.

As people always put, Classic is not vanilla, never will be. And anyone creating a new character there will see its not that wonderland some people make it to be.

My wife says that sometimes when I bend over in sweatpants. Jokes on her though! I haven’t died yet

That’s what they said at Everquest headquarters before WoW came out lol.

I’m not sure sub 200k subscribers without substantial new content can really be considered living.

Thinking you’ll live forever is a good first step to walking across a busy street without looking both ways.

OP is right.

People said the exact same for SL. SL flopped. WoW still lives.

And some people said the Titanic was unsinkable when it launched, a few even saying “God Himself cannot sink this ship”. Where is the Titanic now?

No they are not. The queues for getting into ffxiv have gotten bigger than they were even back in July. It’s now at over 1000 in line before I can get into the game. And it’s still like that until really late at night.

I logged into my “full” server last night, first time in awhile since I only play classic.

I did a /who in Stormwind. 1-60. 43 people. I went to IF just because I love the place and checked. 1 person. I was the one person.

This has nothing to do with reality and actual data. Just you projecting a false narrative.

I’m not projecting any narrative. Queue times have gone up, which means more people. They aren’t leaving. People are racing to level alt jobs before the expac drops soon.

Again, queue times have nothing to do with it. 1 of their 3 sections of servers are dead. You must understand there are many sites that track account log in data. Please educate yourself before replying with nonsense. Thanks.

Hi, friend.

Negativity is absolutely necessary.

You can’t have sunshine, without a little rain.

Add more transmog stuff to the cash shop. It’s the only way to be sure

What a silly phrase. This term assumes only the negative aspects of rain, and is pessimistic in nature. The rain nurtures, provides, and shelters on occasion.

All this did was further display your poor attitude. It’s not healthy, but I get why you’d be upset with how Retail is right now. Just take a break, or maybe try one of the 3 versions of Classic

I’m sure you have this data on hand then. Because if their servers are dead, why are other people having similar issues that I am having?

You do realize people can and do play both games right? You don’t have to be so upset about it. Wow is not your identity. It’s just a game you play. You don’t have to be defensive about it to the point of denying that FFXIV is in an upswing.

If queue times increase, that means there is a population decline.

Not an increase in players.

That makes zero sense. More players are in the queue = more queue time. Has happened with WoW too. Was just a thing in Vanilla Classic and TBC. Both games had to add more servers. They wouldn’t pay for more servers for less people.

Are you a WoW therapist?

Am I to pay you by the hour in WoW gold?

Stop with the personal attacks and contribute to the topic at hand.

You can always feel free to ignore me, as well…I think that’s a feature?

But, yeah.

The population has gone down dramatically, and we have currencies and systems that are primarily taking the place of content.

Like, in the past we had more zones to level in, reps to grind, etc. Most of it was required–but some reps were just for fluff items. Mounts/toys.

Forced reps feel more like a chore, than fun. And with this expansion, for the longest time pre 9.1.5 there wasn’t a way to catch up, if you couldn’t log in daily.

I feel this expansion focused too much on systems and grinds rather than a more natural and balanced progression of content. Currencies and anima and covenants and renown…doesn’t equate to fun and meaningful gameplay.

It’s just forced gameplay for progressions sake.

In the past, we could log and chill while doing dailies. We didn’t even have to do them…I’m thinking of the Argent Tournament ones. They were there as a catch up mechanic and also for fluff items. But it didn’t feel as forced/required as the dailies do, now.

There was less content locked behind those dailies, back then.

I guess I miss that.
