You’re wrong. Even if it flops as bad as BFA or SL it won’t die.
Nothing will really kill this game. It’s sort of like crack.
When you first went to the dealer they gave you the premium product. But now that you’re hooked they can cut it with baking soda, step on it, charge more and you’ll still come back and buy more.
That’s how Blizzard designs this game now and they’ll do the same thing in 10.0 and people will still play it.

“World of Warcraft”
“It’s sort of like Crack!”
The more things change, they more they stay the same.
I Agree op. This game may see low player counts, but I don’t think it’ll die. People will come back once we get another Legion. ETC.

The old is new again.
And it most definitely can die.

I’ve actually heard the game called “World Of Warcrack” before, so this checks out.

I mean your not wrong, it has a name I just can’t think of it off the top of my head.
BFA, maybe.
SL…
The Devs in the past have confirmed that under 1 million subs WoW isn’t financially feasible. It is rumored that, we are already under that for the live game, but back when they confirmed this… We did not have Classic. So even if the Live game is under 1MIL, Classic is their only so called net theoretically.
Blizzard will, if they continue down the path they’re currently on. Need proof? Log in and see how dead the live game is. And or look at how many people moved on from this game due to 9.0 and the atrocious development time between patches.
9.2 will need to be god like in order to save Shadowlands and even then, I doubt it will bring many back as it’s just repeating the same formula we’ve had for nearly 6 years now. More Blizzard BS.
10.0 is their chance to spice things up and make something great, if not. Then unjokingly and unironically, ignoring the big meme of the forums… WoW will die.
At least the live game. They could milk Classic until the end of WotLK. But that’s what? Maybe two years at most?

empty on what server? i get on and find content no problem
It would take a massive engineering project to shrink the game down to the much smaller number of servers needed to make it appear busy to players. As long as the population is in a freefall, there’s no point in investing more money in it.
The thing is, I’m not seeing the sort of changes that would bring back players. PvP for the masses who used to do it before Ion started experimenting on the playerbase and tuning old raid so players could farm them are what I think are the two easiest things to implement. But they’ve decided to stay the course.
There’s no point in keeping the doors open for one player per server. These games are expensive to maintain. They need a massive number of players to pay the expenses. And Blizzard doesn’t seem to be interested in giving paying customers what they want. Activision will pull the plug if it hasn’t turned around sometime soon. 10.0 may be too late. And Mike Ybarra’s announcement that he had complete confidence in Ion, followed by himself using his Blizzard linked twitter account to push carry sales, gives me no confidence.

Every dog has it’s day. If they launch another craptastic expansion the game is done, unless the competition drop the ball. Alot of MMORPG’s on the way to beta at this point. If the casuals see the grass is greener over there. WoW will end up like EQ and sale bags for TLPs. Another reason they hired Holly.

I don’t think wow will die unless a similar game comes out that can steal the population. A lot of us are still on wow because there’s nothing else for us to play.
FF and ESO are the only competition. Yes FF is gaining a lot of ground but I don’t think it’ll “kill” wow ever. The games to different.
FF has a ton of great points like an absolutely amazing story but imo the combat is not fun. And a lot of people don’t like the vibe the game brings (cat girls Ect)
ESO personally I don’t like at all I don’t know why it’s even up there but people enjoy it.

Well i remember hearing the same when BFA was ending, that if SL flops it was the end of WoW and is not been called a flop and the game is still alive.
So yeah, can’t believe them anymore.
They’re called Blizzard for a reason. Lot of quality “snow” in their games
Can be saved if they add Player/Guild housing
Sadly this is 100% correct…. I get sober for a couple months…. But but I always come back
