Idk, I like my characters to look hot. Most of my characters don’t do skimpy mog just because some raid sets I prefer.
Whether I would wear that outfit in reality or not doesn’t matter, I like my babes lookin hot.

Well, that’s the power of fantasy for you! I have some characters that dress a bit more scantly clad than others, depending on how I’m feeling and what the character is like!
If it fits a fantasy I’m going to go for it!

I go for what ever is aesthetically pleasing.
A lot of allied races now have tattoos to show off on their body, so skimpy mogs let me do that.

I don’t know if my mog is considered skimpy due to me being topless but I do it because I can’t find a top that look good on me.

I’m not dressed skimpy. It gets hot in the workshop with multiple machines running. Alchemic vials bubbling and stacks and stacks of parchment all produce and retain certain levels of heat.
Goblin gal has to stay cool some how.

Most of the skimpy mogs are leather or cloth. Not too many mail or plate skimpy mogs. The plate ones are fine, lack variety in color and mail is ugly in colors as always.

For me it just varies, sometimes i like the look cause it’s pleasing to the eye. Other times it’s just by coincidence because the outfit matches something I’m going for. Sometimes it’s not skimpy at all.

For PvE I enjoy doing it because like you, I’d never do it IRL. I do try to make them look good though, and not just skimpy for skimpy sake. Nothing wrong with that, but I like to make mogs that use everything but still look skimpy.
I have skimpy mogs for this toon, but I usually run around in this, my RP attire since I love it so much. When mogging is free for the mog contest, I am running around in skimpy stuff. Although, with RP I’m not running around in anything skimpy because a plate bikini won’t protect you from attacks xD

For me, the high fantasy genre has always been synonymous with sexual freedom and an appreciation for titillating art design. I, like many others, had my sexual awakening in WoW when I was a teenager through the art and costume design. I also saw many of my girlfriends (platonic) thrilled by the freedom the outfits gave their fantasy characters. So now when I play female avatars, it just seems natural and fitting with the genre to go super skimpy.
