Lol I’d rather just not play like I did during shadowlands. I’m regretting not leveling something else. I don’t have the time to level multiple toons.

Yeah i’m leveling a priest and hunter atm. slowly I might add.

Arcane is fun, but it is the community that doesn’t receive Arcane well at all. Getting into RBG’s, Mythic+ groups is abysmal. Also when they see a good one it’s all good. But it’s the trying to prove yourself which is the daunting part. Most of the time you don’t get to, because you get the boot.

I’m sure fire and ice is now experiencing that as well.

Arcane is just boring to me. Even the sound effects bother me. Just sounds like someone tossing bean bags against a wall. It kind of reminds me of when they changed the old arcadey paladin sounds to the modern pots and pans sounds. Because you know the one thing I think of when washing dishes is gee I wish my game sounded like this.

I didnt play for a few expansions… last time i went hard core was Wotlk… anyways wanted to just play fire and dps is terrible. i dont like frost… and have been trying to learn arcane… for as much damage as it does… the spec rotation to me is so confusing. I like fire. I like to burn things. I hope it gets a much needed buff. I am in like some WoW depression right now… crap dps and unable to master arcane rotations…lol

I miss the simple wotlk times…ohh that darnasus music… good times…

I liked arcane before. Now every wow golum plays it. I wanted to play arcane this expansion, but when I saw how overturned it is , ill way till is again underdog

Subs up the 25th. Current state of mage, auto-decline for every group, Doubt I will resub. Complete nonsense.

Well, if you have 60.00 blizz can help you out!

Thank you. As a fire mage, it feels awesome to not be invited to M+ and raids.

I have tried to raid as arcane. I just can’t, i can’t, it’s too frustrating and annoying. Longass combos where you need to stay still for atleast 10 seconds or use talent that allows to cast on move but losing shimmer.

How on earth you play arcane on heroic Primal Council when you constantly have to move to clean, to share, to burn, to avoid people that are getting to pillars while not moving too far away. AND THAT’S ALL WHILE STANDING AT RoP. And my damage still sucks (lack of experience, maybe, but judging by wclogs arcane kinda sucks on aoe)

I give up. I’ll just do only world content and low m+ as frost and would never touch arcane.

The answer is very, very carefully lol. Some of us arc bois have been around forever and have always contended with not being able to move for the entirety of our rotation so we are used to it by now.

Despite recent tuning this week and even at the beginning of December Fire still feels under tuned. The challenge is at present Fire is in a bad spot for Mythic + where its the “Off Meta Spec” so group finder is damn chore almost a job. Almost makes the game unplayable in that respect. I have to waste so much time to get into a group that the game isn’t fun because I’m just sitting in Valdrakken.

Why? Because Mythic+ groups want a Frost mage or Arcane. I’ve seen it in group finder where groups advertise looking only for a Frost or Arcane mage.

Some might say play Frost or Arcane…well for me Mage has only one spec Fire. I’ve hated Frost since Vanilla and no matter how many times I give it a change I still hate it and I’m in a similar situation with Arcane as well.

I’ve been running M+'s either with guildies or as frost only. I ran through LFR as fire and it seemed better than last week in normal so I have hope that fire will be a bit better… but it’s still not great.

My biggest issue is that arcane as a rotation is just annoying. It feels janky and over-complicated even though it really isn’t actually complicated.

I’ll continue to play frost and fire until they become better but my plan until next semester is to use my off-nights from raiding/M+'s to level one of my alts.

I’ve been thinking I might just play my Druid or Hunter…

At least they tweaked Arcane to the point it is playable in raid scenarios. The opposite of what they are doing with fire. Implementing long hard casts as part of the play style which is exactly why no one played Arcane for all these XPs. Arcane always simmed respectably for ST it was just hard to see those numbers in raid since they were so stationary. At least until bosses were on farm. Now fire seems to be heading in the same direction.

I like pyro and skb and all but it goes against the synergy and smoothness of the rest what happens during combustion. I’d take an insta-cast meteor during combustion over a 4 second hardcast all day long. Whichever meta wf fireweeb suggested we stick with shadowlands iteration of fire mage should be kicked from the community.

I was excited about blaster master coming back and I kind of expected they would revert back to something similar to the last 2 tiers of BFA which was the funnest fire has been since tier 1 Legion.

SKB is fun for minute-maging but combining it with pyroclasm (even though pyroclasm in itself has great synergy with SKB) makes the spec immobile and unforgiving since eating those procs because you can’t find multiple opportunities for casting for 4 seconds (nor should you) is a huge loss.

they actually didn’t. Entire power of arcane is in Radiant Spark. Pick something else and arcane deals same dps as fire or frost.

Ya sorry you didnt get the gist. I was referring to its mobility. Not it’s damage.

The core of Fire’s issue in m+ is SKB. Spec out of it and you lose an instant 7,200 dps. Can’t make use of it on most pulls, or if you can, 3 mobs are dead and the rest are at 10% health already. Either that, or it just falls off between packs.

Meanwhile melee, most other ranged, has zero issues pulling off their burst with near zero chance of it failing (even Arcane).

arcane sucks and no one wants to keep playing arcane for the 4th expansion.

I feel the mage players who are ride or die Fire or Frost, 'cause I’m ride or die Arcane.

But also, some mages were too comfortable with thinking their spec was gonna dominate forever. Perhaps it wasn’t the spec itself and rather the power level. Find something more suitable I guess.

I’m not sure. I don’t really recall any of the mage specs being S tier for much of shadowlands and fire was only S tier for the last tier of BFA and A tier the tier before that. Before that fire was basically trash since emerald nightmare outside of m+.
