It is more along if they choose to preform the transition, being healthy or no. Only true historical hiccup of transition of the crown was when Edwards VIII abdicated suddenly due to relationship (and other pro-questionable connections) iirc, which was stressful for parliament, family and country during the given time as well.

honest to god, i thought the queen would outlive me somehow. i’m still processing how to feel about her being gone… as a canadian, i… don’t know how to feel about her not being around anymore. i mean, it’s not like she was an everyday part of my life, but she’s on our money, and my grandmother used to have a room set-aside just in-case she ever visted (i know, not likely but that’s how she was) so… i dunno.
