Why is it the over creativity of Boss fights is so bland ?
IT’S all just absurd mechanics upon mechanics…
Do this dumb dance thing for 15 seconds … drop these portal thingies over here and there… drain this anima jar and cross your streams…
For the love of Buddha, seriously .
What happened to the good ol days of Fire resistance and Moar Dots?

I spend a lot of time now playing alts in old expansion dungeons. A lot of the time in current WoW it feels like I’m playing Dance Dance Revolution. But I do understand some people like the newer design. It’s just not for me.

I’m not particularly interested in auto-shot afk bosses, thank you. Mechanics make the fight engaging.

It’s not so much the mechanics that bug me, it’s all the crap all over the floor from all the spell effects.
Half the time you can’t even see the spell markers on the floor as melee ( from the boss ) for all the player stuff on the ground.
Flamestrike
Consecration
Death and Decay
and now we got big blue whatever all over the floor too.
Then add whatever the bosses are laying down, ugh.
sensory overload.

Yea the total randomness of it and getting target by the same ability 5 times In one fight…
Totally tanking your dps… because Random mechanic.
IT’S annoying as hell
i’m just wondering what sort of foe fights their opponents by creating beams between random members of a raid party and causing damage unless they go and thread them through some energy spheres they also created.
seriously, who fights like this? things start to look like there’s no boss and we’re fighting the room.

I legit don’t even take notice of things like Flamestrike and Consecrate. My brain seems to just remove them from my visual field.
I see heal puddles and death puddles and the rest of it just doesn’t register anymore. It’s there, I have my graphics up, I just don’t notice.
Not gonna lie, the dance is entertaining af for me. Probably one of the better phase transitions imo.

The amount of mechanics in this game have gotten way outta control. It’s part of the reason I have zero desire to raid anymore or even do mythics.

Speak for yourself. Raids have been pretty consistently great over the past few expansions.
I personally can’t think of anything more boring than Raids going to Vanilla design where each boss has like 3 mechanics.
Bosses had 3 mechanics in Vanilla?
Wait, maybe in the second half of it they got that high…
honestly the game as a whole has too many mechanics. why cant we just have quests and dungeons. why do we need anima and all this crap

I have to admit, until I learned what all that blue was, I was moving out of it because one of the most basic things in raiding/dungeoneering 101 is standing in stuff is bad.

I think Blizz should consider an easier tier of raiding. I mean for the entire tier, not just one difficulty. Heck, maybe even scrap mythic raiding for a tier.
Just drop the “players are getting so much better” stuff that doesn’t seem to be all that true and focus on a fun and silly raid over insane 1 miss and we wipe style mechanics.
See how it works out. If the mythic raiders are disappointed, they’ll get over it.

I blame stuff like DBM for that actually.
The mod made dealing with raid mechanics a bit easier so Blizzard, to keep out in front of it, has to keep ramping up the number of mechanics in the fights.
If Blizz would ban mods like that ( not saying they should, just if they did ) it would take stress off themselves and they could concentrate more on making fun encounters.
But that’s just my opinion.

I dont mind harder boss fights, loot needs to drop though or the *#@! is just not worth it.
