To help with populations at launch

Why are people so eager to throw more money at this degenerate company?

People aren’t going to take week vacations just for launch of a game?
I am. LOL

I Have No Idea. Here we are though. Like 3 or 4 threads into this madness.
Blizz has to be like: huh? What? But…

Makes you wonder if some are employees? Lol
Get your blue Ion! Ahahahaha

Dude you kind of look like Yoda from a distance. LOL

other than this last post please stop bumping this thread.

its a bad idea , the population wouldnt spread enough and they wouldnt be able to sort the situation out in 3 days early access without resorting to sharding or some other junk.

it would serve as a point of how many people are serious about playing classic but that will do a fat lot of good when their go to seems to be “limited sharding at launch” without exploring other means.

p2w is a bad thing indeed.

Haha. A lot of us are older. I’m sure you folks that were in your early teens back in Vanilla have your oats to sow and will do so with a vengeance.

Real life my friend. It consumes us all eventually. Early TBC my wife to be moved in and made my temporary hiatus permanent with a big beat stick.

That’s what divorce is for stop using your wife as an excuse to not fight me in the BG’s coward.

I’m telling her like it is: It’s pwnage time! I did my chores. Bills are paid. Here’s money see you on Thursday night date night.
Leave me alone unless you have food or the house is on fire. LOL

The population would spread out on its own as long as sharding isn’t keeping them in place.
Starting guilds getting your rare diablo pet if that’s in there, exploration exp farming or going to another starting zone to level with another person who chose different race, and holding a event raid hogger or raid enemy starting area.

And making it unbearable to level smoothly people would just leave and come back later.

Releasing a bunch of server at once could work and maybe slowly a few others later.

people pay $5,000 for the CE now a day.

Letting people start a day earlier helps with fighting over mobs, it also gives an unfair advantage to those more competitive types.

Paying a sub doesn’t buy you an advantage. I’m not sure how you’re confused about that.

No p2w. It goes against the whole idea of bringing back Classic.

Yeah, people have been planning for this for months and even years. They have been preparing, making lists, picking the perfect names, and putting together guild groups. People have been making min/max rotations and builds for power-leveling to race for server firsts. These are literally like kids waiting for Christmas morning. You don’t get to send them a letter at 11pm telling them Santa’s not coming at midnight after all.

You tell that player that he can’t start on day one with the others, that he won’t be able to reserve his name, that he won’t be able to set up his guild, that he won’t be able to level with his friends or compete with the buddy he’s been doing all this with. See how well that goes over.

The temporary starting area sharding is the best, easiest, and fairest solution to launch traffic in the starting zones. Look, I hate phasing and sharding and CRZ. Part of why I want to play Classic is to get away from it. I get it. But they’ve made the best solution, and they will be held accountable for sticking to the promise they made that it will be limited and temporary.

Paying to be on servers released early, rather than servers that will open on release day (and for all intents and purposes will be the same when they open) is not pay to win. Despite you people repeating it over and over does not make it true.

Player group A starts on their freshly opened servers on day 1. Player group B starts on their freshly opened servers on day 3. They have no relationship to each other, and there is no competition between the two that could be “paid to win”. Server firsts are server specific.

The only difference between the servers is that one can pay to access the A servers on the day they open. Servers B are free to access on the day they open.

Meaning you just paid money for a leg up.
Close enough to p2w for me.
Not only that but what about that slippery slope?
If this is allowed what’s next? Boosts? Transfers? Name changes? Tokens? Tmogs in the shop? Epic mounts and riding for cash? Addons for sale? Maybe they could charge by the hour to play!
May as well add dual spec for $5 too.
Oh hey flying for $100. LOL

Like I said the whole industry is in an uproar over this kind of stuff and here you guys are trying to add it to classic as well.

To me this is worse than adding any quality of life feature.
Because the next step when this is successful(it would be. I don’t doubt that. Which is also why it won’t work for what you’re trying to sell it as) For actiblizz would be to see what else could be milked/monetized.

A leg up on who? The servers have no relation to each other. But you know this and simply lack the logic to grok it. Or you are being your typical argumentative self just to be annoying.

Odd, that is precisely what Falanaa calls fear-mongering.

The whole industry is in an uproar about a box cost for a game? How odd. What site was that uproar reported on?

To you this is just another subject you can act like a contrarian victim in. Go back to whining about alts.

Don’t kid yourself. It’s a race and people can say they will be smelling roses all they want.
Oh right they have no relation to each other. So when most buy this leg up/headstart server A will be packed and server B will be lower pop. Got it.
Creating exactly what you’re saying this is to avoid.
Which will probably gurantee sharding as well.
So poof there goes your well thought out reasonings.

As against this as I am I would buy the headstart. Why? Because I’m not going to be left behind.
Which is what will drive a lot of people to purchase it.

Odd. It wasn’t fear mongering when we were talking about guild banks.
It was a slippery slope leading to flying monks.

No. Just MTX, gating, predatory practices, and milking consumers at every turn.
Which you’re trying to contribute to.
Just google gaming industry crash or something to that extent.
You know this it’s been plastered all over these forums. LOL

No. This is a subject that I am indeed interested in.
I’ve watched this industry change from a niche market to the enormous mainstream market it is today.

Ive watched as real money traders made millions off these games and now we are seeing the devs themselves milk the playerbase for those extra millions.

Games have gone from fun entertainment first to how can we milk more money from them?

As far as being my argumentative self: When it’s a topic I feel strongly about (such as this one) you have a better chance of pigs flying than me not speaking my piece.
So as long as this topic comes up or any other one I feel like speaking on.
I will be in that thread speaking my piece.

Obviously you have no real rebuttals to anything I’ve said on this matter at all.
Which tells me you see my logic. You just don’t want to admit it.

This deserves it’s own reply.
My whining about alts is to clean this forum up and show blizz that these forums can and do provide good solid feedback.
Not just a bunch of edgelord trolls having laughs.
There excuse of the forums being a mess stem directly from every bnet account having a possible 50 avatars.
Now that we have forum stats per toon.
You see randoms come in with no post history and post some outlandish crap.
At least there is that.

I will say again:The only reason to have multiple avatars is to troll.

What the hell are you even saying? Are you having a stroke?

So when most buy this leg up/headstart server A will be packed and server B will be lower pop.
Make it a CE, priced as all the past CEs were and guess what, less people will purchase it. No doubt a few whales will as well, seeing as they tossed $50 at blizzard to play 1 zone per faction for a week.

The early servers would have no sharding. Have you not read any of this thread?

And you likely intend to stick around. Congrats. What is your point?

Again, what is your point? Do I strike you as a hardline no-changer? If you’d like to go back and read the threads on GBs you will see extensive arguments in favor of them. That said, while I would welcome them I am not basing my sub choice on them being in or not.
No. Just MTX, gating, predatory practices, and milking consumers at every turn.
Which you’re trying to contribute to.
Ah, so box cost for a product = “predatory practice” now. Do you ever stop to consider what you are about to write before you start rolling your face across the keyboard?

You lack all logic, there is nothing to rebut that hasn’t already been butted.

Sure you do, as long as it is not a well known troll that has you as one of his top “likes”. Saqe is about to fall off your liked list by the way. Maybe Whiskee will be back to take it’s place?

Uhhuh, showing that one has acquired certain gear or played a class? Not a reason in your book.
