To healers with warlocks in your group

We all know the guy I’m talking about. The guy that rolled a lock, leveled till he learned life tap and hellfire, then joined dungeon groups and acts as if those are his only 2 spells. What do you do with these children when they aggro?

I find myself more and more annoyed with warlocks that don’t drink in between pulls like mages/priests/druids/paladins/shaman do, but rather just life tap after every pull until they have 10% HP left and we go to the next pull with them only inches from death.

I find myself more and more annoyed with warlocks that seem to think hellfire is the only AoE they have, and that it’s their best choice of spell to use when a warrior tank pulls 5-10 mobs in UBRS, and then the warlock instantly pulls aggro while at 10% HP because he’s killing himself with hellfire. Learn to use Rain of Fire! It’s dps isn’t quite on par with hellfire, but it’s a lot more safe and a better spell to use in situations like these.

Healers what do you do with warlocks that do this kinda thing?

I don’t heal them and let them die is such situation. I experience b4 and he die on every pull until he got piss off.

the locks gain heal by draining… two full casts and there back at full health dang near… we kno what we are doing… the tank holds the aggro while we get back to full health… i do drink after pulls but i bet if u dont heal the locks u wont here us complain… we’re just doin our thang… ur job is to keep the tank up if we kill ourselves thats on us not you

oh no, locks complain. I told one i dont want to waste my mana. If he wants to life tap to 10% i will leave him there. I may pws him if he gets aggro but thats about it.

What I don’t get is why do no warlock’s have maxed first aid… I mean it’s literally a full health heal just about on a 1 minute cooldown and Runecloth drops like toilet paper just make band aids for crying out loud

I use a minimal percentage of my large mana pool to restore their health to 100% when they’re low so they can continue putting out good damage. I’d be more concerned if they were wanding or using low dps moves like Drain Health instead of relying on me for support.

Don’t put these two in a same group. Life tap annoys me a lot. Hellfire is great! makes the runs go way faster. Just PW:S them when you see the animation and let them pewpew.

i feel you on that… everyone is diff i suppose… im the type to say in an instance can i buy a couple waters from our mage instead of can i get some waters… sounds like some locks dont wanna waste the money on drinks… i dont expect to be healed in instances id rather have the tank get all the heals… i also never understood why people dont like others gettin good drops… we’re on the same faction gearing up fellow ally could potential help u in the long run when it comes to Wpvp… help gear up ur faction so we’re all stronger

I heal them and maintain them at around 70%+ health. I never really had a problem with this except when I had two locks in my ZF graveyard party and they were both AoEing with hellfire.

It’s pretty easy to handle.

If the warlock uses Life Tap/Hellfire during combat to speed up the run, you should spare some heal if able to.

If he just life tap to 10% and not eat/bandage up between pulls, let him die or kick him. And this comes from a warlock. I always have 3 stacks of water and food before any dungeon run the which I blow through 40-50 of them by the end of the run.

I prefer mages who use CC, but those are so rare nowadays. I would rather have a lock than a mage that doesn’t CC. I just toss them a renew after healing tank and then the whole group almost never stops to drink. Did a ZF run with a lock last night and I think we stopped to drink twice the entire run. Did the whole instance in 45 minutes thanks to life tap + renew.

If you’re healing 5 mans in disc or holy, you have mana to spare, and dumping excess mana over to the lock is ez pz, nothing to complain about. If you’re healing 5 mans in shadow spec, you have no right to complain, you’re being just as selfish.

I’ve mained lock back in vanilla and I have a lock ult now.

I don’t need nor require the healer’s help to stay alive and dps.

I play multiple classes with mana bars and I generally do not drink between pulls. Warlocks Life Tapping keeps them DPSing and is easy to top off on a healer. If the rest of the group can keep moving and it’s between just the healer drinking, or the healer and the Warlock drinking, the former will cost less mana and likely result in a quicker run.

I have only experienced this once so far in a Stockades run. I was healing and had a Pally tank. The lock actually asked us both if we were ok with him using Hellfire. Tank had no issues with threat and I didn’t with healing. Was actually a pretty great run.

I can’t imagine the mindset of people who just outright stop healing people that do this. It’s childish.

Tell the warlock if their behavior is problematic and actually screwing you up, or just shut up and keep a renew on them. You need to drink marginally more often, but your group is also moving that much faster.

You decided to be a healer. Heal people and stop complaining.

It really depends on the Warlocks attitude, for me.
If I see a warlock life tapping to what ever level of health, and they are actively trying to regen health, ie. Eating, drain life, the cannibal thingo, I will go ahead and tell him to tape his life away and I’ll heal him to full, every time.
However if they don’t even bother to help themselves, I’ll chuck a renew on.

I help those who help me to help them.

I don’t use hellfire unless the healer is okay with it and then only if there’s a good chance I won’t pull aggro. Having salvation up makes it far more usable.

As far as lifetapping, I try to restrict it to in combat when mana is needed to keep DPSing. Out of combat, it’s always best to just use water/food like everyone else does.
