For whatever reason, I still don’t know if I want to do alchemy. I guess I’m still thinking about being a tailor/enchanter as a NE Balance Druid.
I enjoy those professions a lot more, and since Idk if I’m making a mage, I am still considering this option. Would I completely regret it, or could it benefit me and others as a Druid, though?
If you plan to do PvE and raid as Boomkin (or as a Mage), Bloodvine is a set you can craft after ZG hits and it’s Tailoring only. It looks terrible, but is some of the best pieces in the game for casters. Other than that, if you have a source of herbs, Alchemy is the best money maker.
It actually might not look too bad, idk. Could be useful, thanks for mentioning.
Well, it’s a gross looking tunic and pants if I remember right…
Idk, could live with lol.
I found alchemy fun, and if you are an herb gatherer, it is cheap to level. However, while product can sell particularly if you have a desirable and rare recipe, for the most part alchemists are everywhere and people would prefer to just buy mats.
That’s the thing. I feel like there will be a SHYTE TON of herbalists in Classic, and right off the bat it won’t be an especially profitable profession. I think the AH will be chock-full of low-level potions a day or two after launch.
I don’t mind herbalism, I kind of enjoy that part. You run into a lot of roots and flowers in Darnassus even. But I think alchemy is just so competitive and not that personally rewarding, idk.
In BGs, I used to suck down a ton of potions - major mana, swiftness, and free action. It was useful to me to be able to gather the mats and make my own pots.

That’s a good point. I could definitely use potions in BGs. But like you say, most people will already have the profession and make their own potions for something like that.
If you’re going Balance druid. tailoring will be great for you, i’m not to sure about enchanting. I mean it goes well with tailoring but you could also be a herber for the gold. Enchanting has benefit’s, but without herbing and Alch that’ll hurt unless we consider alts which is a whole nother thing…
If you’re just making a mage and want to do Ench tailoring on him you should do that, or vice versa.
If you care about min maxing Tailoring would be best on both just due to bloodvine and a few other things.
Enchanting is give or take honestly.
I actually enjoy enchanting, is the thing. And since I currently don’t have plans to make a caster-type character, my druid seems a good option for these professions.
But idk, it’s all in whether there’s any point to it.
Well if you enjoy something then do it that makes it a lot easyier, people love enchanters especially if you give away enchants to lowbies while skilling.
I suppose on benefit is you can stealth to the Ulda Trainer as well. Do you plan to raid with the Druid as well? If you do then yes it’s totally worth it, whatever toon you are going to main or grind rep for the most is the best for enchanting because of Raid / rep locked patterns.
Enchanting is one of the professions I was considering. My main issue with it is that vellum didn’t exist in vanilla so my chances of wanting to advertise and making any gold off of actual enchants is small. I could still sell mats I guess…
I also hate getting enchants from other people pre-vellum… So the lack of vellum is equally a reason both to get and not get enchanting for me.
