To Each Their Own, Right?

Buying power for money yea, it bombed. Hard.

Well yeah, the thread is about Blizz selling stuff, not players though.

I made a good chunk of change off that, idk why Blizz thought it would be a good idea lol. They let us make money off their own product (some of us made multiple times what we paid for D3)

Im sorry are you buying power for money? Did the point of my comment really go that far over your head?

Because I thought I was clear but let me be extra-emely clear because youre not understanding.

The original comment was listing the slippery slope of “Just dont buy it” and the final comment listed a weapon I.E Purchasing Power for money.

In reference to that I stated the diablo AH that attempted to sell players weapons and gear for real money and how that failed.

IF you still dont understand my very basic english explanation I have no idea what to tell you.

I seriously don’t care. If people want to blow $90 away on something that’ll be practically unplayable and constant disconnects and then complain about it later, that’s their choice. Not my money, not my complaint

It’s not that deep.

I merely pointed out the difference that one was players selling players items vs a company selling players items.

They are similar but also extremely different. Both P2W in the most basic sense, absolutely.

So you DO understand what I am saying, and agree with me. Thank you. Couldve saved about 60 breaths worth of oxygen and 3 posts to say that.

I do. I don’t support that practice in MMOs. I truly hope it goes awful so they never do it again.

I bought for the exp/boost since I’ve never played WOW but know the leveling process is very easy and the boost unlocks a lot of things that will help me get around the realms and do the intro quests. With Remix I was able to level all 13 classes to 70 and get a little feel for them to see what I enjoy the most.

I am playing on a heavy rp server which just makes everything 10x better as well.

You’re projecting so hard. It’s kind of sad.

My sweet son bought me the epic version for Christmas and I’m going to go in early. I hope it goes well as I’m not a speed freak in game. I take it nice and easy. I’m sure that even with the early access, others who wait will still beat me to 80.

I’m not sure I even realized there was early access at first. I just happened to be lucky enough to have the extra cash to throw at it for once so I decided why not. I’m more interested in the mounts and transmogs anyway. I don’t really get it but whatever I guess. At the end of the day it doesn’t affect me either way.

I didn’t buy the Epic Edition for the three days early access. I bought it for the goodies it came with: Mount, pet, tendies, transmog set, beta access, 30 days game time, toy, and hearthstone. Getting in early is just a small bonus worth about $1.50.

I won’t knock someone because they couldn’t afford this or that, but I do love the fact that I can buy both the “TWW Epic and a years Sub” for myself and my spouse totaling $491.74 and not bat an eye.

Anyone who plays early access needs to be VERY AWARE of any bugs that might be able to be exploited. Don’t do something if it seems a little too good to be true.

These are the things I wanted it for also. It was my first beta and it was nothing like I thought it would be, so I only logged into it for a few minutes and then forgot about it. Early access is just a bonus and maybe a little less crowded.

?

Heck I didn’t buy the epic edition because of the early access. I never play until a week after launch since I know how the servers will be and the rush rush rush of people doing quests will be. I bought it for the free game time, pet, hearthstone effect and toy.

There indeed are other reasons for buying epic edition. But I don’t see how that encourages BlizZard to create a better product if they make more money.

I don’t see it as a big deal myself, but I’m not a raider or serious PvPer; I play mostly solo, sometimes in small groups with friends. When I raid, it’s LFR. Therefore:

  1. If I didn’t have EA, I would not be upset that anyone else is going to have a head start on leveling/gearing over me, because I don’t raid.
  2. I do have EA, but since I’m not going to be anyone’s competition in any raiding race, I don’t feel any guilt about it.

That said, if I could have gotten all the other collector’s type things (toy, hearthstone, pets) but saved (say) $5 by not getting EA, I would have done so.

I did consider it worthwhile to have beta access, because I flatter myself as to think I’m pretty diligent in trying things, seeking bugs, and providing feedback. But I might have opted out of it too if I could have had the collector’s items.

My biggest concern, if I did not have EA, would be getting spoilers, but when I see a post labeled “spoilers”, nine times out of ten, I choose to click on it and read them anyhow.

All that said
if I were a serious raider/PvPer, I might very well be unhappy about people getting a head start over others. But even then, I’d like to think I could keep my discourse civil and not resort to the kind of attacks that get described as terminally online or something.

At this point nothing short of a mass exodus of subscribers is going to get them to change the game for the better. Buying expacs is a money boost for a short period but it’s the subs that make the difference. So us buying different versions of an expac doesn’t change the game for better or for worse.

that’s a lot of it. people are bitter and jealous. i bet we’ll see people go into a frenzy over it on the forums when early access begins
