Do you think covenants should be freely swappable with all the talents and abilites and everything that comes with them?
Or do you think they should cut back on everything and make them all the same ability wise?

Because I think if you had access to 12 soul binds each with their own trees to go down… well isn’t that far too much?

They should be swappable.

Sometimes I want to raid
Sometimes I want to m+
Sometimes (but if I’m being honest, far less times), I want to PvP

and choosing a covenant that’s only ideal for one of those is a pretty crappy position for blizz to put us in.

yea, it would be a lot, but they could build in a system that remembers your choices.

No, it would be just like Azerite.

This is I think quite literally not possible anymore at this point in the expansion. If we can time travel back to 2018 or 2019, then perhaps yes.

Also this point has been reiterated in every other ripcord thread so far but yes the majority who favor the movement want covenants to be freely swappable for the ease and fun of gameplay.

They need to allow Healers to test the Covenants properly.

They also need to get MONK covenants working at some point. FIX the bugs BLIZZARD!

Not 1 blue post in the monk beta forums!

My compromiste that I’m willing to live with, you have acces to all combat/signature abilities like 2 new talents row. But joining a covenant give you access to soulbinds of that covenant, meaning you can specialize it.

Also they need to remove the conduits lockout.

Honestly, at this point, im fine with both. Both arent great solutions, but Blizzard already dug themselfes in so deep that its hard to find a really good solution to this mess.
Both options are a lot better than the current iteration.

i know they dont want to be locked into one set of skills that makes them worse off than if they chose a different covenant.
But personally I think its insanity to want everything every covenant offers now so I was curious if it was they wanted everything, or if they wanted to just not be in a worse off possition. If that makes sense

I think the best way of having swappable covenants would be to have your progress retained similar to how specs/talents are handled. Once you unlock each talent tier, you have access to it on all of the specs for that class regardless of how much or little you play them. With Covenants, your progress on the first one could be transferred over so you’re instantly caught up as if you’d been the second Covenant all along.

I don’t remember all the responses I’d read but from what I can remember, most people were asking to be able to swap between covenant abilities and not having access to all covenant abilities simultaneously. Dunno if anyone suggested that but I’d think they’d have to be joking since that sounds more like an Essences 2.0 than anything else. 0.o

its not the unlocking i would be concerned about, it would be trying to remember 12 different soul binds each with their own talent tree.
Thats over 100 different paths to take using my awful math
Probably a lot more since i didnt account for the 3 way split actually

You can’t really unlock the abilities without unlocking the soulbinds, since the soulbinds have traits that empower the covenant abilities.

But I think all the player power stuff should be swappable.

They could let you set it like rune pages/talents pages in league of legends.
Letting you save your different setups with names in an index.
Which would make the 12 soulbinds easier to use at the end.

I was imagining that your choices for each would be saved since that’s how talents work. The only time you’d have to redo them from scratch is the first time you switched and if you intentionally reset everything.

maybe, just as someone used to playing just one spec, i feel i would be drowning in options

Now that would be the worse :stuck_out_tongue:

I think covenants should be a meaningful difficult to change choice in terms of storyline, cosmetics, and rp. But have the covenant abilities become a talent row you can change with the same restrictions as current talents.

Soulbinds can stay locked to your covenant, but your conduits need to swap with specs. The current system is a major hindrance to playing off-specs or multiple forms of content.

You wouldn’t have all of the options at once. You would pick your covenant abilitiy then you’d only have the 3 soulbinds associated with that covenant to choose from.

yeah but if they ability is freely chosable then in brings in all the soulbinds with it
so while they wouldn’t all be available at the same time, it would be a lot to account for for everything you do regardless

The people who want to be able to swap due to the abilities aren’t all that interested in the cosmetic mogs, mounts, etc.
