To any m+ puggers

If you are going to not take a dps, tank, healer, whatever, DECLINE US so we can apply to more groups.
It is so infuriating to sit there, thinking are they gonna take me or not? Like yeah if not instant accept probably not, but at the same time what if they’re debating…

meh, after 1 minute i just assume im not gonna get picked. so if needed, i just withdraw to apply to another

Nah. Especially if it’s someone who should KNOW they aren’t going to be invited. If you’re like 430ilvl applying for a +2 and wonder why nobody will invite you, you should be able to figure it out. Heck, I seen people with even lower ilvl trying to get into keys.

I use the spaghetti on the wall method of just spam applying to 10 groups at the same time

I don’t decline because usually the same vastly overreaching player just keeps reapplying.

It’s been a while since I led keys ( Thanks blizz for the mobile app requirement ) But one reason you might not want to do this is you start getting whispers from mad players.

The other thing is it’s pretty easy to hit refresh and not realize you’re reapplying. So it would be like whack a mole with some people.

When you see how many people apply to each key, you’ll understand why so few people bother with declines.

There’s easily 20 DPS applying for each spot during the early part of the season.

It takes a while to decline that many people, it’s easier to just let them sit.

I’ll be honest the entire method of building a M+ for a pug is rather infuriating all around.

It would be nice if you could list yourself as looking for a group for Mythic+, with a list of dungeons you want to do, and the key range for each of those your interested in.

Then when someone creates a new group, rather than everyone having to apply for it, simply have everyone who is already looking for a group listed in the same style menu we have now constructing the group.

When I invite someone it prompts them to join the group, indicates the details of the group that I specified to begin with as well as the existing members of the group, their class, and role (all the info they can see now when they would be applying) and they have a short period to accept or decline that invite.

The filtering then falls on the person building the group which they already are doing anyways by specifying minimum ratings or ilvls or whatever which will result in restricting the number of potential players looking for the specific key I am trying to build.

Not at the moment. You can see the list once you’re invited and for at least the +8 range it’s surprisingly small number of people.

There’s no way to keep track of this, but there should be. The could have a toggle that would flag listings that have either declined you or you have declined.

The power to start a mythic plus group as a tank or healer and then go to the john while people languish in misery isnt yours to take away!

I spend my time slowly, shuffling like an old man in slippers wasting as much of your precious time (yes you specifically!) as i can while i gather my evil snacks and supplies for the night to commit attrocities such as doing a countdown timer for demon hunters, then NOT putting the key in!

I shant share anymore dark secrets, for i grow weary and must rest my evil beady eyes while you stare at that green timer counting down to zero…

This could be interesting. I suspect the downside would be that it would make the “last to be picked for the team” problem more systemic than local as people with higher iLvl and IO are continually put first in line as they sign up.

I imagine this already happens to a degree, especially if someone is trying to get into keys with stats well below the current social norms.

I hit decline if you are Ret paladin and I already have a Ret paladin, otherwise I like to see options.

I also like to let things sit with vacancies for a bit just in case groups of 2,3 or 4 want to join.

If I haven’t been invited by the time I sign up for the 5th dungeon, I just press X on the first one I signed up for. Rinse repeat.

Personally, I think about the advice everyone gives on the forums “Create your own Group”. That’s already the current standard advice right?

So now instead of throwing up your group and being out there and probably having people not apply because they see your rating. You get the opportunity to see the list of everyone else out there looking to do the same content and you can send invites to whoever you want. I would wager a handsome amount of gold that someone in those shoes can create a group faster in the system I am suggesting than they could in the existing system waiting for people to apply.

I know a lot of people just looking for stuff to do who are lazy about what they apply for. You’d likely get quite a few more people interested just from the fact that that others can list very open LFG listings and will show up in everyone’s list of candidates when constructing a new group.

If you aren’t getting grabbed in 20-30 seconds then move on.

Declining people just makes them all angry.

No thanks.

I wish it worked the other way, as in a person, lets say me for example, could put themselves into a pool and write a small note “looking for any keys between X and Y range, chill groups only please, completion more important than timed”. For someone just looking to get one weekly key done for their vault, it would be nice to just dump myself into that pool and then go about my daily activities until someone decides to fish me out. Infinitely better than being rejected 20 times before finally getting a group.

Just to be clear, this is a hypothetical situation, i do not pug keys at all lol

I have 4 tanks I play in m+ and I’ve had some low score tanks apply to a group and get declined and then I’ll wait a few minutes and reapply and get invited. Sometimes group leaders lower their standards when no one applies.

Also, Hey Kennie, saw you on a battle ground blitz on my paladin the other day.
