To all those that say

“FrEeDoM oF SpEeCh DoEsN’t ApPlY tO a BuIsNeSs!”
“OuR LaWs DoN’t ApPlY ThErE!”

Your spergery prevents you from realizing that political disagreements with a foreign government will affect the game we play and that this is a AMERICAN COMPANY that can’t be more enthusiastic about bending over a barrel/can’t do it fast enough for a COMMUNIST AUTHORITARIAN GOVERNMENT all at the behest of ever more profits. You’re witnessing the game company many of us have poured our heart and soul into with their games for 10 or even 20+ years, sell theirs for money or the prospect of.

It’s about the spirit of OUR LAWS, the fact that they are from OUR NATION, OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH and they’re all the more willing to strip it from someone else if it means they make a penny.

That’s why people are mad. Thought I’d help since it seems many of you are too dense from reading the comments in various threads.

I don’t really want to voice an opinion on this but I will say, this news is spreading all over the place:

Can’t tell if serious or trolling… But on off chance not trolling…

The competition’s rule cited as “broken” is the most draconian vague-speak I’ve seen. It doesn’t even specify that you have to engage in political activism, just that you perform “ANY act” which offends “a portion of the public” at “Blizzard’s sole discretion.”

A rule that’s broken by simply affirming human rights elsewhere is practically designed to be broken so that Blizzard can drop the banhammer at their leisure.

When are you cancelling your sub?

The attitude of so many corporations to China today reminds me of how the US was happy to deal with Germany in the late 1930’s. The Chinese government has rounded up a million of their minority citizens and concentrated them in camps. At what point does it become a crime against humanity? Is it OK so long as China doesn’t gas all the Uyghurs, and the others who need ‘correction’?

The amount of people that will blindly come to the defense of a corporation they only have a customer relationship with is terrifying.

What the hell are you talking about?! America also has Capitalism and the freedom to run your company anyway you see fit- thus, Blizzard can ignore you or heed you based solely on their current whim.

Yes! Blizzard could even choose to push the delete button on this entire game today if they so chose.

So do you have an estimate on how many people have taken up this offer and deleted their means to voice their protestations on this forum? Just curious.

Sure, leave if you want to. I’d rather make noise.

: )

You claim to unsub take it a step further.

All the self proclaimed capitalists are mad that capitalism does capitalism.

Yeah, but none of that is how a capitalistic business, ya know, stays in business.

Blizzard doesn’t need World of Warcraft to stay in business.

I’m guessing that’s a no to my question.

Reasons why would probably be 1) some are holding out hope that Blizz will re-position themselves on this.

And 2) they want to voice their dissent here.

Just saying, your attempts to get people to silence themselves are noticeably transparent and probably ineffectual and pointless.

Blizzard banning Blitz brought them into public disrepute, offended a portion or group of the public and otherwise damaged Blizzards image.

Guess Blizzard gotta ban themselves now.

I’m certain that Blizzard’s discretion in determining Blizzard’s punishment will be consistent.

It’s always been said that the only thing that can kill blizzard is blizzard.
