Classic TBC without tokens or level boosts, everyone starts fresh, the Dark Portal has a delayed opening so we live in Azeroth as TBC races with TBC class balance for a very long time. Give people a chance to experience fresh Classic with TBC abilities. Then on into the portal.
Honestly they really botched the release of TBC Classic and I’m still bummed about it.
I fail to see how having a couple of classic TBC servers is anything but a win for customers.
It turns out the minimum population required for a server coincides with the minimum population required to do the content in question. Players who prefer to just solo aside, you need 5 players to do dungeon/heroic dungeon content. I’ve formed groups of my own in any given expansion and played exclusively with that group for that purpose. Same goes for raiding, and if you want to see an example of a server that is doing just fine with only 40ish active players, look to Grobulus in Classic Era. Hopefully Deviate Deight will soon follow.
For the people who want the content and the experience, “healthy population” is not really a relevant term.
*EDIT: Worth noting that even Era itself is a good example of this. It died off almost completely for a while, then came back strong.
You can ask the wow classic era players who continued playing since the launch of tbc, I know a few of them and I can tell you their names. OFC it was a death at the beginning but they played it and now era is so much more alive dungeons, raids, BG and WPVP. Even with that the idea of TBC server is different, we do not have and expansion that will kill our game as it was in that time, is just a big comunity that will play the entire expansion content because it is replayable as vanilla is. Why? BiS trincket in phase 1 raids, BiS items in Phase 2 raids (lady vash belt, mage trinket…), BiS in phase 3 (BT not more to say) and ofc SW with the last BiS items content.
Remember when people were kind of bored with ulda so they did hc modded, or started to ask for classic. I would not be surprised if those ‘plz tbc plus’ posts are made more or they do something to find some small amount of fun when cata drops.

There should be standalone servers for every expac and a fresh every 1-2 years that dumps all those characters back to the forever server.
There should be and should have been on each progression into the expacs…
I just don’t want the whole front page of classic discussion filled with repeat posts about this subject and I’m sure blizzard doesn’t like seeing it either when they already know what we want.
But they can’t release it yet with panda remix and cata on the release line right now.
Give it time.
Time is what we do not have. Our characters wil inexorably be transferred to Cata, and no later re-creating will give us back the characters we played since 2019 in a Wrath-environment.
Then jump on the “Classic Servers for each of Era, TBC, and WotLK” train and then the posts will stop when Blizzard wakes up. We’d love to have you.
