Ret’s mobility is worse than pre Legion and it’s worse than pre .07. Unbound Freedom is dispellable now. We got a buff to pony which does nothing if your rooted/snared.
You can’t out pressure ranged specs 20 yards out, yes it’s higher than pre .07 but it’s poor damage compared to being in melee range even compared to pre .07. You’re not out damaging a range that is awake at 20 yards, Holy Power generation is cut in half if not more even with the best build here. Not only that the self sustain at 20 yards is almost nothing, you lose heals on CS, TV and your Fading Light is cut in half.
Had the hotfix not occurred Monday it’s arguable Ret would have been about the same or worse after the rework in PvP, would have been less mobile with lower burst and a smidge more sustain.
We had jurisdiction as a PvP talent prior, the difference is we had longer range on our stun which is gone. We gained 3 yards on Crusader strike JV and a bit more on FV.
I haven’t queued any arena on ret yet, did some new zone stuff and a bit of world pvp though.
Feels fairly good overall, just as others said its the triple whammy combo of the free divine storm and arbiter hit after a tv/jv that can almost global people that needs changing.
You should try leveling to 70 bud it gets better

Ret was already on par with frost mage which people admit was ‘pretty good’. The buffs currently probably made them the most broken spec to be seen.
Well put sir. I remember that garbage. Auto-stunDK glads. Ewww. Arena ghoul rez too. Haha. Just go play CSGO or level alts while this nonsense goes on. This isnt sustainable and if it stays Arena will be even more dead.
No, there is a point to that post actually. Where there a ton of threads like you pointed out for those classes? Yes. However that was at the start when lots of things were crazy. Now its essentially just ret and warlocks. So the point about bias while it seems troll is really spot on and true because nothing else falls into that catagory atm.
Hopefully the path the team takes is a good and constructive one, this is a product we all pay for, and its in all our interesets to avoid advocating for spite balancing like people hae done all expac.
I have a few 70s. Including a Ret with several thousand hours played. I will freely admit 95% of that time is PvE doing mythic+ and into Mythic raiding I generally get burned out take a break once the guilds I’ve been in get about halfway through.
Ret mobility is lower than pre Legion. We lost a bunch of tools and got Pony in legion instead of the leap, making us less mobile in PvP.
To every angry post about Ret pallies, that means is another Glad got pwned!!! LOV it!

So putting it back to where it was again? Where it does no damage and has no survival ability? If anything needs a nerf it’s fading light and that’s pretty much it Ret isn’t Meta dps but it’s significantly better position than it was pre changes. It’s a spec brought into the modern era such as DH and dracthyr. y’all are on that hard copium

Top end nurf will come I’m 100% sure about this. I hope they don’t gut our self sustain, I’d like to self heal more than classes without healing trees. I’m not asking for Warlock level of passive self healing but higher than classes with no healing tree is appropriate.

Ret literally was a glass cannon that had zero mobility and just felt like paper before rework literally every Ret said this like what are you on?
Also what delusion? It is definitely you when the devs come out and say Ret was struggling in all forms of content which was the reason for the rework you somehow spin that to Ret players being disillusioned. Ret pre change is significantly worse in PvP than it is now. All it had was damage every 2 mins which lines up with CDs. That’s it.
