It’s a good thing you never played on a PVP server in Everquest. Ghost running is a breeze compared to trying to recover your corpse.
PVP problems require PVP solutions and help build community, alliances and friendships. This is where heroes and villains are made, server stories are built, and rivalries begin.
This is one of the biggest differentiators from retail. If you want devs to hold your hand so you can hide in town all day, then “go back to retail.”
The people complaining are mostly people who haven’t experienced anything besides retail. I keep seeing people saying “I’m being punished for not hitting 60 fast.” That’s EXACTLY how vanilla was, people who were slow lost out on a lot. Deal with it and stop trying to make this game like retail.
Hahaha yes UO was the greatest. I still remember my friend being so excited when he got his first boat, only to have someone stealth on to it and kill him for his key. He had the boat for all of 2 minutes before he got jacked
Nothing today pales in comparison to uo. Still the only game where i can litterally run up to you naked, steal your weapon, kill you with it and take everything from you. Man imagine the forums if a game like that came out today
You should check out UO Forever. Great server that’s free and about as close to the original feel with some fun additional content. I still play there from time to time
Well said. Love the part where you mention heroes and villains, server stories, and rivalries. It’s all so much fun. This is the most fun I have ever had while playing a video game.
Cool, so you’re all switching to Incendius Alliance to balance it out right?
Because your sanctimonious admonishment of people hating this phase really misses the point.
Sure, in ideal situations PvP is great right now. But there are no ideal situations.
Nearly ever instance of PvP is actually just people ganking questers or giant raids on the boats from Theramore just straight up murdering everyone who gets on the boat.
Yeah that’s soooo fun.
15 years ago this was NOT the case. It was rather uncommon to run into a raid on a boat, or to be picked off by 5 level 60s while you’re a level 35 questing. Isn’t that supposed to kill their Honor? What happened to DK for ganking people 20 levels lower than you?
Ive played it for awhile, uo outlands is really dope and refreshing too with a custom map and stuff but still heavily reliant on the old t2a pvp ruleset
I am on Incendius Alliance bud. I run 5-15 mans and run around looking for horde. The the past two nights I built groups to camp Badlands and do 15v40 near the Badlands / Searing Gorge pathway. It was incredibly fun and rewarding to strategize with a small team, use terrain / high ground to our advantage and form new bonds with some guys from other guilds we brought in.
