To all the "it will not be optimal to play" people out there

you have clearly not tested it…

…i have tested it…i talked to a mythic raiding fury warrior testing it aswell on the ptr…he said he did 10 to 20 percent less damage on single target using the button…this is a good mythic raider…who has mastered his rotation…who presses his buttons fast…having to play with 20 times the effort…not to mention the added skill of doing said rotation in an actual boss fight and not on a training dummy…knowing when he has enough rage to press rampage…knowing when something is off cooldown… “oh but it lets dot fall off” you dont think even current rank 1 players don’t have dots fall off time to time throughout a fight…

I want this to be very clear…in this current state of 1 button rotation…i would go so far as to say 95+ percent of current players will be doing more damage with this 1 button…once they comfortable weaving in their cd that doesn’t auto press…the vast majority of players responding to this forums very soon will have the very uncomfortable realization they are one of these many many players who will be doing more damage spamming 1 button…i promise you it’s going to be very fun…for a week or two…when thus far you’ve been putting in real effort to play the game and then in 1 small patch it’s completely trivialized and then after 2 weeks you’ll realize how bored you are spamming 1 button…then you’ll go back to “manual” to see your damage numbers go down with 10 times the effort…and then there’s no going back…

if this was truly an accessibility feature…and you want people to be able to play the game with 1 button…then fine…but keep it out of any group content…you can spam your 1 button in the open world…you can finish any questline with it and enjoy the world/the game…you can’t mix people in any competitive environment spamming 1 button playing alongside people who aren’t…without friction…huge friction…you can still be a competitive person in a normal raid trying to parse…you can be at 1600 rating and be a competitive person…blizzard is really insulting the intelligence of the long standing player base here…you have essentially changed the game overnight and people aren’t realizing it…this is very clearly what they decided the solution to wow on console to be…this is all that it is…“accessibility” is a trojan horse.

In it’s current state…1 button rotation is so powerful…i no longer consider wow a pc game…it’s no longer the same game i…and many other of the current players…who throughout it’s history kept it as the number 1 mmo in the world…if there truly is a playerbase out there that would enjoy the game/world more with just 1 button spamming for dps to they can complete the story easier…the players who are legitimately not able to press alot of buttons due to a disability…ok… i’m totally for this 1 button being appealing to people…but right now in it’s current state…using 1/20th the effort and brain power required to actually play the game and knowing your (honestly very simple) rotation…

In it’s current state…the penalty is way way wayyyyy too small…the mythic raider i talked has thinks 90+ percent of current players will be doing more damage with this 1 button spam!!! and i think it’s honestly even higher…there are many different factors that separate players in this game…one of the most unhealthy…problematic…unfair…are the ridiculously op addons in any group pvp or pve content…a level of awareness that’s not accessible in the base game…this is the artificial skip gap in the game that’s really bothering people at it’s core…it’s turning off new players and frustrating to veterans alike who have developed actual skill and awareness in the base game… (esp applies to pvpers)…you are being out addon’d by players…not skilled…the difference in dps output…from a lfr player…to a normal raider…to a heroic raider…is what was a healthy and great needed skill gap in the game which made getting better at a spec actually feel good…you have removed that entirely for a large large portion of the playerbase…the reward/fun of learning something about your spec…or rotation that now nets you 10 percent more damage…due to you thinking…you have gotten better at your spec…this is really a huge insult to the intelligence of a huge portion of the player base…this needs to be kept it out of any group content or make the gcd literally 3 seconds longer…if you really want to have it pass an an accessibility feature and not something that’s completely game breaking… .3 seconds you think that’s alot people in wow forums? i gaurentee half the people responding to this type 1 sentence per minute…so you’re now much faster than you were before with 0 brain power being used…this is what’s going to save wow?

i have played and enjoyed this game when it was the “most dead”…this is the first time i feel like wow now made for a completely different player than me…this is just a different game now…i’ve played since vanilla (cliche, but actually true)… i feel like i’ve played with every single different tier of wow player out there…went through all the aspects of the game…being only good enough to level…to open world pvp…non rated…rated…normal raids…heroic…mythic…this is insulting the intelligence and the actual joy and gameplay loop that the vast vast majority of players enjoy…there is such value in the game that comes from people doing different amounts of dps…its such a great and necessary separator of skill…and you have cheated that journey for the majority of the player base now…i really do think this is a violation and there’s going to be a vocal minority of players esp on twitter posting about how much fun they are having now completely owning it up with their 1 button spam…but realize you can’t put the tooth paste back to where the tooth paste originally came from (that’s my version of the saying)…to me it’s very obvious to what changes wow actually needs in order to pop off again…this is so far of the mark and so game breaking…it’s going to be the most contentious issue in wow for the foreseeable future…even though it shouldn’t be…i see the comments out there… i see what comments end up getting the most likes out there…i know there’s more people who agree with me than not…i have faith in the wow community that we can whether this storm and make Azeroth great again…ion… you’re fired… im a-political btw…im just making joke…but really ion has to go.

I’m sure the devs and the community will be getting plenty of data and feedback.

10% less is basically impossible with GCD penalty if your mythic raider friend was really doing an optimal rotation on his own. The GCD penalty is greater than that.

I have tried it on MM hunter and guarantee it will be enough to time 10s.

How did it compare though to doing your own rotaton yourself on the same target dummies for the same duration?

Did you try just the helper without the one button feature?

It wasn’t perfect, sometimes it would cast aimed shot twice in a row but I think that was a bug that will be fixed, but otherwise it would handle trick shots well, using multi-shot instead of arcane shot when multiple targets would be hit, it handles streamline well, and on LnL procs it would cast explosive shot into aimed shot, after multi shot if AOE. It was really good considering it’s one button (I used the one button). The rotation was almost ideal in terms of overall DPS.

I won’t use it because it would be less control - I can’t save rapid fire if the tank is pulling more and lunar storm would be better off right then, it drops volley even when packs are about to die. It’s fine and probably better than a lot of players are playing but has room to improve. Priority damage and damage in burst windows is not considered so it’s better on target dummies than in real M+.

That’s surprising but good to hear that its not a total mess. I suppose they were able to basically just copy most of the priority coding from the addons that exist already. Hopefully they will be good about keeping it updated quickly with class changes.

Did you feel the GCD penalty much? Like not just on the meter but how it actually felt hitting buttons.

Are we sure about that percentage? I feel like the GCD penalty would equate to much more of a dps loss than that

Especially on GCD intense specs like fury or affliction where you’re constantly smashing buttons

MM does not stack haste and already plays somewhat slowly so I’m sure this is another point in favor of the super button. I guarantee it will be enough for 10s, probably even 12s on MM. The performance was impressive for what it is.

I assume they will tone it down so it won’t be that good. My personal feeling is that it shouldn’t be any higher than about ~50% of an optimal rotation. At 70, 80%+ it’s pretty obvious how awful and unhealthy it is for the game and there is no shot Blizzard would let that fly unless they are okay with a mass exodus from wow.

I am so happy that you came to grace us with another chicken little thread with very new and exciting information from your totally real mythic raiding friend. It is a joy to scroll through your wall of text, which I’m sure was so very important that yet another thread about this topic needed to be made. This breaking news certainly couldn’t be housed in one of the other umpteenth threads about this feature, your unique insight was far too great to be consumed by an already active thread.
