Why do I need to get an accessory, even if it’s free, to do something that my mount always did??
Why do I need this accessory on the waterstrider, since he always did what his name indicates he does???
I do not want to receive an accessory, to do in an aquatic mount, what strider always did and devs does not explain why?
Have not many angry decisions been made on BfA to add more to the stack?

oh god…dont give these jokers any ideas.
I took engineering on other characters specifically for making goblin gliders. No doubt they’ll end up find them too advantageous and nerfing them into dust at some point.

Based on info in other threads, it seems that its ‘free’ for on character only.
From the other threads apparently you’ll have to buy the equipment for EVERY character you want water walking on.
THAT is my problem with it.
I have over 50 characters, mostly in classic content, most under 60 and one thing I like to do is level NEW characters up all the time.
So Im supposed to now PAY for something I did the grind for on two accounts ?
Yeah…this is just way past the final straw.

Just because the world isn’t ending doesn’t mean it’s becoming a better place.
The devs are opening a design space to allow new types of terrain hinderences that can be overcome with mount gear at a time when I feel the world already hindering me more than enough.
My concern is that now that the devs are offering us parachutes, they will turn around and add random anti-air weapons in the world so that while adventuring in those zones, parachutes are really the only correct choice and all this effectively becomes just a removal of water walking under the illusion of freedom (this may not be the current plan, but it’s the natural direction for the mechanic to evolve)

That we have to pay for. After we already earned it. And the strider still loses its base ability.
One. That works for one character. And it works like a gem, so it’s consumed on use and another would have to be bought if we ever change equipment.

Not sure why another thread on this is needed, especially since if you had read the others you would have no need to make this one because you would have discovered the real issue with this.
In any case, best wait for the PTR and see how they have it implemented and complain on that forum if they put it in stupid.

I’ll make an analogy with the superman and his flying power!
The idea proposed is equal to removing the flying power of the Kryptonian, but giving him the flying ring of the Legion of Super Heroes, with which its members can fly, even those who could already fly by their own means!

You’re not supposed to bring that part up. It totally screws up their defense of Blizzard simply taking yet another QoL item from the game. Sure, it’s not going to be gone entirely. Just transformed into yet another gold sink/time gate. Now THAT’S Blizzard “Entertainment”.

You do realize (from my understanding) that you only get to use one type of equipment at a time per character, right? So yes if someone decides to use another type of equipment… the water strider DOES lose it’s ability until the equipment is switched again. Hardly the same as “strider isn’t losing its ability”.
