To all of the Retail PTSD people worrying about Wrath launch with QOL:

That’s cute, but I think you’ve got it backward.

The ones who want all the changes, and want the game to become more like Retail, are the fake friends in the wrong house. If anyone needs to “get out” it’s them.

Classic was made to attract a different audience than Retail, not just to be the Retail fans, who would already be subbed, play thing between patches. The correct game for someone who wants Retail WoW is Retail WoW.

When a Classic poster comes to the Retail forums and asks for more Classic changes to Retail that video fits your side.

Classic was created with one goal in mind: to protect Blizzard’s intellectual property.

The intended audience was Blizzard’s legal team.

Any talk of other reasons/causes/motivations is twaddle.

You’re not wrong, and it did start off that way. Classic was wildly popular. TBC has been nowhere as successful…from a player standpoint. But Blizzard made much more money from TBC, thanks to the Deluxe Edition and the Boost. And that will probably only get worse as time goes by.

So while it started off as an authentic recreation, now it’s just another means by which to milk the Retail playerbase. However, with that said, there’s probably not much to worry about in terms of in-game changes to the game. The answer is very simple: they don’t make Blizzard money. It’s not going to attract more players. In fact, it’ll alienate and drive away people who want an authentic experience (though many of such players have left already anyway).

But for all the entitled Retail players whining about ‘necessary changes’…Blizz knows it’s a lot of meaningless talk. They’re going to play and there’s no point wasting time and resources changing things to try to appease the unappeasable. For example, the only way dual spec would ever be in TBC Classic is if they put it in the cash shop. But that would be pretty extreme in riling people up.

So expect another Wrath Deluxe Edition. Another boost. Probably sell mounts, pets. Much more account services to change faction, race, etc. Micro-transactions will be the focus, not in-game changes.

the first shop mount came in wrath along with the paid name change and the faction change so i assume they would add them again in wrath classic

LFD can wait until ToC or ICC imo. Dual spec can also wait until Ulduar.

The first shop mount came in tbc with TCG cards and recruit a friend rocket.

No thanks.

Don’t play it then. I wont mind.

It’s going to launch on day 1, why wouldn’t I play it?

Links to post from blizz saying so?

Links to saying it won’t??

Of course we didn’t get the extra gear it’s stronger than the gear that would be out doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this stuff out but we got the systems

It’s going to be out on release it’s 100% healthy for the game

This is such nonsense lol. One guy said it on reddit once and you guys been repeating it like you’re all IP experts ever since.
