Could someone give a quick summary of this boss? I think it’s supposed to be soloable, and that the bugs have been fixed, but I never did the original so I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.
I’m skipping the cloak and necklace. Psychus spawns in the main room, and I die shortly after killing him. The combat log doesn’t show what kills me. Very confusing.
Kill Psychus as fast as you can.
Take the portal to his mind as fast as you can.
Rinse and repeat.
I haven’t done LFR but I have been farming N’Zoth on mythic and it’s doable.
Make sure to drag the named boss onto a tentacle so that it weakens him in the underneath and then return to the regular world by finding your glowing body.
Are you clicking on your body to leave the psychus phase? If you stay in there for too long after he died you will get one shot.
The ability is
Collapsing Mindscape – Slaying Psychus inflicts significant damage to the Mind of N’Zoth, destabilizing the current Mindscape.
Players within the Mind of N’Zoth when Collapsing Mindscape finishes casting are killed instantly
Thanks! There’s no portal, though. I’ll try again, but I haven’t seen it in any of my attempts. Also… Psychus spawns in the main room with N’Zoth. On mythic I think you have to go through the Mind Gate to see Psychus.
Yeah mythic removes phase 1 completely. So you only have two psychus phases instead of three.
I’m doing this on LFR.
The portal is on the ground so if you are looking for an upright one you will miss it. I know I did the first few times. Also if you are doing it for the achievement don’t forget to get the quest…like I did.
I know. You brought up mythic and I responded to that.
That also happens on all difficulties. It is only the first psychus phase (which doesn’t happen on mythic) that everyone gets sucked into. Regardless of where they are. As it happens as soon as you pull N’zoth.
Ah ha, ok I see, thanks. I made some progress now. Psychus spawns immediately behind you as the fight starts. I pull him onto a tentacle, kill him. Click your orange body to return; it will be very close to you. Then I get the window to DPS Nzoth. After he’s invulnerable, kill tentacles while waiting for Basher (or crusher?) tentacles to spawn. Kill them asap. Between where they were, a mind gate will appear on the floor. Enter it, kill Psychus ASAP. Right behind you, your orange body will be on the floor; click it. Now you repeat this cycle:

They will always spawn at the same spots. The first one is always between the two crusher tentacles that spawn once phase 2 starts. Likewise the second one will spawn between the next set of two after you get another damage window on N’zoth. Which is on the opposite side of the arena to the first mind portal.

been farming him on m for months solo or with a very small team (due to insanity now being a think for small groups).

I just did mythic today. don’t move away from where you “zone in” to kill psychus. you need to click something with a gear to go back otherwise you just auto die a little after killing him

You can move as far as you want, you just need to collect (click on) your body after
Ah ok lol. I couldn’t really make it out with all the spell effects going on. All I saw was the golden gear
