Yeah it seems easy to balance a game where you can get top tier gear from playing match
Lol, what you want a poll? The discussion is pretty much the same in every venue, the same pettiness. Are you trying to make the assertion there’s some magnanimous silent elite of players I’m falsely defaming? Well whatever these hypothetical opinions might be, if they’re not spoken they’re going to be drowned out.
Thats not my fault, and I’m not the one you should be upset at for defining the tone of the side of the discussion you happen to be on.
You basically just explained part of the biggest reason why TF is a problem. You shouldn’t be doing WQ’s because there is always a chance that the loot that drops could be blessed by the rng gods and suddenly become on part with heroic/mythic raid gear, that’s a incredibly flawed and backwards design for how gearing progression in a MMO is supposed to work. It doesn’t matter now anyway, because both Corruption and Titanforging are leaving for good. Good riddance.
I like corrupted gear more than WF/TF.
Now ppl can’t get lucky and have the same IL as real Raiders/PVPers
MoP had thunderforging, WoD had warforging… did you forget that?
I already mentioned both of those expansions. So no, I didn’t forget.
You chose to ignore everything I said so this is the last response I’ll do to you because it’s a waste of time.
The game retained players better before RNG modifiers is my point.
You’re trying to argue against that point.
It’s factually proven wrong, based on game subscribers.
End of discussion.
show me the current subs then.
Sorry mr hides behind an alt.
Also classic had an everquest style… after Wrath that style became more outdated along with the big bad being defeated and the general decline of the mmo genre.
Also china propped up those subs… 1hr playing the game in china = 1 sub. Did you forget that? Or are you using flawed number to support your flawed argument?
end of discussion… see mr spineless i can do that also.

Actually most of the people I’ve interacted with and seen on the subject matter have spoken clearly about why they dislike titanforging only to get the exact same response that you’re giving. Players on your side of the argument normally want to play the victim. While rarely I get people who have different points as to why they enjoyed it and how it affected their gameplay.
Any way to Sunday, it did affect those Mythic players. Having an infinite grind and feeling like you have to log on every day to roll the dice just isn’t fun.

Yep this is a problem. The other problem for mid-tier mythic guilds is that a few months in to the tier, you have many warforge/titanforged pieces and progression bosses don’t drop any upgrades. For people who are gear oriented, there was really no reason to raid mythic in 8.0-8.2 past the first 2-3 bosses of the tier which all dropped weapons/trinkets.
I could honestly care less what other people wear, but personally titanforging sucked because trying to clear the raids on mythic was not the best avenue to get the best gear.
with that removed what arbitrary thing will you say will prevent you playing this time?
There are still some walls that need to be answered for me to fully come back. But it looks like they’re actually listening in SL and it has peaked my interest. If they address some of the issues then I’ll preorder but for now I’m gonna wait and see.
So still tons of posts despite you not playing and wishy washy “i quit” posts… gotcha.
At the end of the day I hope that Blizzard proves me wrong. I have no issue looking silly and then being shown that what they’re doing is an improvement to the experience. In that scenario everyone wins

Yeah. Like I said for me it felt horrible getting gear better than a Mythic piece from World Quests.
What is the problem with Titanforging? I don’t get it. Why are people complaining about their gear becoming more powerful? Please, explain it to me.
Two reasons:
- People were mad others got better gear than they did.
- They saw that titanforged was better than normal, and therefore naturally assumed it was an upgrade that they HAD to have, instead of it just being a treat. Went LFR < Normal < Heroic < Mythic < M+ < Titanforged M+
“Oh, I HATE it when my gear accidentally becomes more powerful!”
– Literally no one
How dreadful!
Lack of agency.
It isn’t a problem when we’re able to control what we want to upgrade
Ever played an old P & P dungeon crawler?
You don’t get agency when it comes to gear.
You might get a plain old boring helm. It might be a +1 to your Strength. It might be a Helm Of Giant Slaying. But it’s RANDOM.
Gear is supposed to be random.
Titanforging wasn’t a issue.
People wanting to min/max and not wanting to deal with a dice roll was the issue.
Personally, I think Blizz just caved to a bunch of whiners on this one.
Edit: Oh, and I think they dumped Titanforging for Corruption BECAUSE of the whining.
"Oh, you didn’t like random gear, huh? Well guess what? You’re getting RANDOM ON TOP OF RANDOM this patch because up yours, that’s why!
Titanforging wasn’t a issue.

A single dice roll is fine. But what…4-5 dices? No thanks.
But what…4-5 dices? No thanks.
Pen and paper.
Happened all the time.
No the only dice roll before all the forging was if it dropped or not.
What a dumb opinion and a stupid analogy.
Gear is already random before you add additional randomness to it. The gear has to drop in the first place. And that’s what it did for the greater part of the game. The problem with titanforging is that you have to get the drop in the first place, like you’re saying, and THEN AFTER YOU GET THE PIECE it has a chance to be either dramatically better or worse depending on additional RNG.
It would like getting a +1 weapon drop in DnD, after rolling the table, and then after you roll the weapon, you roll to determine if it has any bonuses that bring it up to a +2 flaming weapon. You do the same content. You roll the same weapon on the table. But after you roll both of those, you still dont know if your piece is any good. You instantly feel worse if you only get the +1 weapon, when you could get a +2 flaming weapon.
What a dumb opinion and a stupid analogy.
It’s a great analogy, and your opinion of it is dumb.
Gear is SUPPOSED to be random. You honestly shouldn’t even KNOW “If I kill X boss I will get X gear and it will be worth X”.
That’s honestly a ridiculous concept.
