You cannot compare classic/BC/Wrath to Current retail in no way.
They have made it even clearer with Classic WoW that people who want this type of gameplay can just play Classic. Retail is based around selling the product, you can hate it but its the way retail has been for years now.
Are you trying to defend the devsâ decision to ignore their playerbase and stick with gearing systems that never should have existed in the first place? We should have options. They decided there were enough people in opposition to titanforging to warrant changing the system, but they completely ignored what people wanted and implemented yet another RNG-upon-RNG layering gearing system that should never have existed, and whose predecessor should never have existed.
The devs should figure out what their issue is, and then listen completely to what their playerbaseâs majority wants, rather than listening to only a little bit of peoplesâ problems and then taking action, which is what has gotten so many terrible systems placed into the game, because the devs refuse to listen to their playerbase.
I absolutely can compare past expansions to current retail, and thereâs nothing you can do to stop me or convince me otherwise. The game was healthier in Wrath of the Lich King, Mists of Pandaria, hell, even Cataclysm. Just because classic exists, does not mean that referencing previous expansions that were far better and had the game in a healthier state is suddenly forbidden.
I know. Thatâs where Blizzard missed their mark.
I donât love corruption. Itâs not a perfect system for reasons like this. I wish they had removed RNG completely from gear, but since we are stuck with this system now, Iâm just looking at the silver lining.
We are not stuck with this system. We will only ever be stuck with this system if we fall into the mindset of feeling like weâre stuck with this system. The only thing that saying weâre stuck with this system gets us is us being stuck with this system.
âThe playerbaseâ did not uniformly reject titanforging as you claim. Mythic raiders did not even agree. Most players were fine with it.
Keep in mind that the common complaints âpeople are getting fully geared up in better than mythic raid ilvl gearâ were written by raiders who had milked the system hard and blamed âLFR heroesâ for the fact that they never saw upgrades from mythic raiding. Despite their claims that it was common for casuals to have better gear than them because of titanforging, not a single example was ever produced of a player with gear like that who had not done a lot of hard content. Nor did we see mythic raiders gearing up with world quest or LFR titanforges.
Forum elitists are not the majority. Most players just ignored those cesspool threads, because they had better things to do, like playing the game.
If a majority of the playerbase was fine with titanforging, then why did the devs decide to take action at all? Itâs almost as if they recognized that a majority of the playerbase had an issue with titanforging, and decided to change it. The problem is that they didnât listen fully, they only heard âWe donât like titanforgingâ and stopped listening.
What TF should be, is a rare coin that drops off any boss or Rare elite. Each gear requires a certain amount to forge up a tier. You can only forge once. Done
âThe problem is they didnât give us everything we asked for and more.â No.
Mythic raiders are a tiny minority in this game. The majority donât even raid. Mythic raiders I knew were fine with casuals getting an occasional upgrade.
I donât understand why you think that casuals and N/H raiders would be vehemently opposed and want you to get big guaranteed upgrades while their own gear got nerfed hard, which was your plan.
Players will always eventually have influence on the game. Even if we donât have it right now, if they continue to ignore us and frustrate us with unwanted systems and changes, it will eventually build up, and the devs will either be forced to listen to a majority of the playerbase or stick to their failing system and watch the game die because they wouldnât listen to us.
We never asked for more. In this situation, we asked for one thing. The dev team only half listened and implemented a system no one asked for that has only proven to be even more problematic than the previous one, which is incredible because the previous one was problematic as well.
I am not a mythic raider. I am simply someone that wants to see a return to static gear progression, which is impossible to achieve with RNG-upon-RNG gearing systems plaguing the game. No one, including normal and heroic raiders, will ever be able to say âWell thatâs it, Iâve geared up, I did what I set out to do.â as long as these systems remain in place.
Casuals getting high titanforges was never the problem, it was only what most people liked to tout as what our problem was because it made us look shallow and elitist. Sure, there was a small portion of the playerbase that genuinely felt like that, but they were just that - A small portion. There was always a larger portion of the playerbase that took issue with titanforging because of the negative impact it had on gear progression.
Players have no influence. The consensus you imagine doesnât exist. Think outside your box and try to imagine what each demographic in the game might think about an issue.
The devs only listen to the voices in their bubble. And since they have no respect for the playerbase, when the voices in their heads tell them to troll us, thatâs what they do. Theyâre trolling us. They came up with a system thatâs even worse than titanforging. The target demographic is âpeople who get excited about the opportunity to do more simmingâ.
Players absolutely have influence. The prime example of players having influence is when the devs decided to remove flying from the game entirely, and were faced with such a massive outcry and unsub frenzy that they were forced to keep flying in the game.
I know youâll likely say that it only got us pathfinder, but we still have flying, which is not what weâd have if players didnât have influence. If players didnât have influence, weâd have no flying at all, because the devs would have stuck to their guns and removed flying outright.
Since they first tried to remove flight, the game has lost many millions of players. They knew people would leave over flight and didnât care. They just didnât realize how many there were that were willing to quit.
The game is a small fraction of what it was at the beginning of wod, but they continue to make unpopular decisions that they know are going to drive away players from the game.
Which goes back to what I said to Omnisia earlier, that you quoted in a response to me.
If they donât want their game to reach another breaking point where people are so frustrated and unhappy with the game because of unwanted changes and systems theyâve placed in the game, theyâll eventually cave and listen to us. If not? Thatâs fine in the long run. Their game will die, other MMOs will get portions of WoWâs playerbase, and more MMOs in general will start popping up because WoW will no longer be there to provide extreme competition.
The most irritating to me besides everything about corruption is to do the cloak upgrade, vessel acquisition and getting the pages to upgrade the cloak. I have 5/8 pages to get my level 11 cloak⌠this is insane! I do not like this. And this is just to be able to wear corruption pieces. I rather do something else. Now daily I am forced to grind for the currency to get the vessels to run the HV to get the pages to upgrade the cloak⌠Incredible!
I can not understand how anyone think this is fun! For me is a pain, especially if I have to do for all of my alts, which I am not at this point.
