Everything you pat yourself on the head for “earning” in this game is a participation trophy intended to keep you doing that content. Everything you want to think you have earned is just welfare loot.

No, no, no! We do not need to go around saying that titanforging is better than corruption when the game should have neither of them! The only thing that saying Titanforging > Corruption will do is get titanforging reinstated, which is absolutely not acceptable.
We don’t need any sort of RNG on gear besides the RNG needed to get it to drop. The only RNG I’m willing to accept on gear is the tertiary stats (leech, avoidance, indestructible). We need titanforging gone, corruption gone, sockets placed on gear by default again, and reforging returned to the game.
You’re only hurting the game if your reaction to corruption is “Titanforging was better.”

They made corruption so we’d beg for Titanforging back. I bet money on it.
It worked so well. Blizzard will give us back titanforging back and we’ll be licking their boots, thanking them for listening.
Both things should be scrapped, they are both trash.

I did not mind TF/WF that much but Corruption affect output way too much. A good Titanforging would never boost your dmg by too much and corruption well… can boost it by insane amounts in some cases.
Whatever the system becomes I think its fair to say it should stay at the levels TF/WF was and nowhere near what Corruption is atm.

If we had a WF system where the max bump you could get was like 5-10 iLevel, I’d be ok with that.

That’s how it was in Warlords and it seemed to work fine. If my memory is correct we had Warforged only - and gear that could be upgraded 3/4 for example. I’m not sure if Reforging had been removed or still there in WoD though

We’re not getting that. People complained for years about titanforging. They complained that people who didn’t deserve upgrades were getting them. They complained that they were forced to continue to continue farming for gear because titanforging meant there was always a possibility that a higher titanforge could happen. This meant they could never declare that they had gotten their bis gear and unsub until the next patch.
You guys got what you asked for. Be careful what you ask for, because you may get it.

It was removed. Yeah WoD sucked but it still had vendors and a reasonable WF system.
Reforge was great because you could still get use out of gear even if it wasn’t optimal. Now it’s like “wrong stats. To the scrapper.”
This could all be fixed with the flip of a switch. That’s what annoys me.
When people say they prefer corruption over tf I have to assume they’ve gotten lucky or they’re mythic raiders who didn’t like others being able to grind their way up. Having specific corruptions impacts your effectiveness so drastically that it’s really unfair to compare it to the ilvl boost gained from tfing. I have friends who have been entirely unlucky in getting good dps corruptions and they honestly can’t compete with people who have. That’s not good design and it’s not something that happened with tfing.

This whole corruption system is bad, it rewards those who are lucky with RNG but the rest of the us with bad luck are sat out.
You talk like everyone that had a problem with titanforging was asking for a replacement. We weren’t. We were asking for it to be removed. It needed no replacement, it needed to be outright removed with nothing replacing it. Corruption needs to be removed as well, because as far as I’m concerned it was the dev team that decided they needed to replace titanforging, when most if not all of the people opposed to titanforging were begging for the dev team to remove it.

The player base. Let me guess, you the same kind of person that would ask that question if people said “we want fly back” in wod.
While we don’t have a poll everyone has voted on where we see exactly what people think of xyz. We can see threads, trends and patterns that give you an idea of how things are received.
For example. Have you ever seen people complaining en masse about reforging, trasmog, flying at max, justice points, valor points, pvp vendors existing, etc? In the history of both forums? No, because they were content the majority liked.
Sure some like tfing, most don’t.

Here’s a legitimate question.
Do you prefer a return back to static gearing and “BiS” driven content? Or are you looking for a different kind of TF/corruption system?
Just like “There must always be a lich king”, there must always be a Titanforging. The way Blizz keep you playing the game is based around this system. They will never let it go.
All we can do is hope the next one is better than the previous ones.
This is absolutely wrong. There does not need to always be some system like titanforging. The game was the most popular, with likely at least two times the subscriber count as current, when gear had static sockets on them, and gearing progression was static too, with no warforging, titanforging, or any system that put extra layers of RNG on gear.
It’s better because there’s a give-and-take element that titanforging didn’t have. You can’t load up on corrupted gear like you could with titanforged gear. Your pro comes with a con. Rank 3 infinite stars, for example, has +75 corruption. You can’t combine this with other corrupted pieces without taking damage from the eye and thing from beyond, even at rank 12 cloak.
It’s not a perfect system. They did not succeed in removing the RNG element from gear. It still feels bad when someone else gets their BiS corruption while you get a tank corruption as a hunter. They’re still actively balancing corruption effects (TD recent nerf) in an attempt to even out their worth.
No. You’re thinking that you had options, and because you didn’t get everything you would have wanted, you got nothing.
You got titanforging removed. Only a small part of the playerbase likes corruption. It’s more like a system they came up with to make people sorry they complained.
