The question that Blizzard needs to answer is why do weapons and azerite not TF? If you believe that some things shouldn’t TF why does everything else?
Effort needs to = rewards. That is the issue here. On my alt I afk’d in the cave in the Darkshore warfront with a mob attacking me so I wouldn’t get flagged for AFK and I got 420 socketed gloves, better than what I have on my main who does Mythic raids every week and +13 or higher keys every week. There was no excitement, I got back from the store to turn in my quest and all I could think of was “who thought this was a good idea?”
Go watch stream clips of people getting high titanforges from trivial content. See their reactions, they aren’t excited, they are disappointed that a system like this exists in a game that supposed to be an RPG.
I think ditching titanforge and keeping warforge would be a good compromise. Weapons are already capped at 10 item level jumps, and I think that is a healthier system for the game’s reward structure.
I’d personally be fine with limiting items to having a chance to get an extra 5-10 item levels (either through a warforge or a currency), and bringing back guaranteed gem slots (no longer a chance to proc), I’d also like to see leech/speed/avoidance either go away entirely, or be guaranteed on specific pieces.
Id agree with this. +5 ivls is a happy little bonus
+30 is content altering
I thought that was one of the problems?
Mythic+ making mythic raiding loot feel so underwhelming. (along with heroic titanforges).
Asmongold was right
There is no sense of power gain that a player can have, that is exclusive to that player being good at the game.
Not the guilds I roll with! And they still get the content down. And if they ever start act like leets I roll on! Because this is a game not a job!
Raiding is not a business! It has never nor will ever be. So trying to relate anything in raiding with businesses is foolish. They are not the same not even close. And if in your mind they are. Good luck with that.
You choose the guild.
You choose the game.
You choose to raid.
You choose the class.
You choose not to fault the guild for picking someone over you for 6 ilvls. Something you know for a fact won’t change much. And I can list all the things it doesn’t change. But you won’t read them anyway so I won’t bother since you already know them as well.
And after all the choices you have in this matter. You are unwilling to accept your choices. That’s insane!
Oh god the horror! people trying new things.
Thank god vanilla is coming back so people can sit around in town all day in a full set of naxx gear while talking about how hard it was to avoid 2 mechanics in a boss fight.
Should be exciting.
The top end raid scene is what 2 maybe 3 percent of the total player base. We don’t have the exact numbers but blizz sure does. So they’re catering their game around the majority that pay for the precious content you devour while looking down on everyone else.
Because the so called bad players paid for everything in a raid or die setting. They had the honor of farming stuff in the open world 24/7 with the occasional dungeon while all their money went to content they simply couldn’t do.
The game was in decline long before warforge/titanforge. Just like the mythic raid scene… you’re in the minority on this feature as well.
Let’s see here… If you want to stay competitive on your character you have to do all the content available. That is how you guys have designed the game. I would love to just raid and get everything I need but I can’t. I have to do islands and world quests to keep my neck level acceptable to stay on the raid team. I have to do my weekly M+ for my Tuesday lootbox.I would be dumb to not do the warfront quest because for some reason you guys give 400 ilvl gear for this “content” that is easier than LFR which gives 370 gear.
Think about this… afk’ing in a warfront gives the same quality of gear as Heroic Jaina. Why?
how is that, m+ drops 400 gear and 410 from cache. mythic raids drop 415 gear.
Mythic+ is also the only way to get BiS azerite pieces, soooo…
If you want to wait and get content down at a snails pace and maybe not all of it to boot then yes. You can find homes like that. Not everyone is into that, some want to play with the best. Some people want to be the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd guild on their server.
It isn’t insane that people enjoying competition. The insane thing is getting 30+ because some RNG smiled at you. That is insane.
You can defend this all you want, I am all behind warforging it is honestly a fun touch. Its the titanforging when you are getting out a hand and throwing everything off.
It does hurt people and saying “well not me because my guild holds hands” isn’t going to change the fact it still hurts others.
We want gear quality to be equal to difficulty in obtaining.
Content that is extremely simple should not give away top gear such as:
Darkshore WF and WB should drop 385 not 400.
Complete 4 M+ weekly should drop 385 not 400.
Catch up mechanics like raising M0 drops to 370 are fine.
Leap ahead mechanics like those listed above are not. They particularly feel bad because the drop is random, and can TF/WF.
If I run a M10 KR and get a single tidelcore drop, and CptPetBattles spends 45 seconds auto joining a DS WB kill for a 400 Azerite or titan forge 415. Well, that sucks. It also feels like I’m playing a slot machine, not progressing a rpg character. I don’t feel in control of my fate.
If they must be included, Non random boost items like the 395 medallion ring are much better. We can all get the same thing. It’s a handout but it’s at least fair to everyone. Not a loot roll, no TF/WF.
Raid, M+, and Arena all take effort (teamwork, practice, communication, etc.). Content that does not needs to cap at 370 or 385.
The game does not put these requirements on you. Your playstyle and your immediate community does.
Titanforging isn’t rewarding.
Undermines the base reward structure.
An ilvl 380 item coming out of a random Heroic Dungeon should not be a thing. It should not be possible. But it is and does happen.
We already have RNG gem slots.
That should, by itself, cover the idea of “I still have a chance to find upgrades even in content that doesn’t drop base items that are an upgrade for me”
Why allow for +15 or greater McForges?
What purpose does a +15 serve that a simple +5 or +10 wouldn’t equally fulfill?
While I desire the removal of RNG McForging, at this point the experience has annoyed me enough that I would be happy and just settle for a reasonable cap on it. Like was once the case in the past.

Somebody else having something makes you not in control of your fate? The slot machine of gear has existed since vanilla when 2-3 out of 40 people saw boss loot.
So you are saying right now raiding mythic is not being overshadowed by mythic+ and heroic due to forging and large quanties (and mythic+ azerite being 415)?
That there is sufficient and clear reward to difficulty because killing mythic bosses is giving tons of upgrades?
Because that’s been the opposite of dozens of posts.
I am a bit late to this discussion, but warforging/titanforging absolutely ruined the game for me. Back in the day you went after an item you wanted, you would run the dungeon many times to get that one item, and when you finally got it… YAY!!! You FINALLY got the item you had been going after. Now you can run a dungeon many times for an item but when you FINALLY get it, the excitement isn’t the same because “Cool, finally got my item at item level 400, now to run the place 200 more times to see if i can hopefully get it warforge or titanforge to a better ilvl item… yay” -.-
Oh god the horror! people trying new things.
There is a major difference between a player trying something new starting it from the bottom, and a player trying something new starting at high end.
Try again.
That is a terrible argument and it’s not even true. If you enjoy mythic raiding, you have to farm AP. The later fights are designed assuming you have fully unlocked Azerite pieces and a certain gear level.
