Titanforging and Warforging make me upset

But does hurt the people that cannot play hours on end raiding, but still want to progress their character and make them stronger. Which blizz does well. I don’t have to raid to become stronger, just patient. There is nothing wrong with giving people a chance to grow. You just get more chances at gear than us.

I literally shed a tear reading this…

Best way to look at it is how it works without titanforging. Mythic raiding still gives the best gear in the game.
Once you realize that, then realize all gear has the same chance to upgrade.

So knowing that the chances of a heroic item titanforging to a mythic item level is tacked on.

So to get a 425 from mythic is much more likely than doing so from a heroic.

So on average, the statement is still true: the best gear in the game comes from the hardest content always.

However, it’s of course still possible, so now look at that possibility this way.

It WASN’T possible before. Meaning that difficulty was useless to you. Now it’s not. So you have more things to do in the game to increase your characters power level.

But you are upset about other people getting it?
No need to be. They are either your friends or associates and helping you killing things. Them having more gear is good for you.

If they aren’t, then you don’t need to be concerned with some one you don’t interact with. There are also people out there who win the Powerball, while you are working your 9 to 5. But no need to be upset about that because you don’t know them.

So, tldr. Gearing works the same way it always does at a base level. Do the hardest content and get the best gear from it. But if you really want, you can do other content and actually have a chance at getting player power, where you used to have no use for that content.

If some one else gets an item you want, don’t covet. Celebrate their luck if they are your friends, put it out of your mind if you don’t know them.

I think that is the healthiest way to look at this topic, whether you enjoy it or not.

Hope that helps.

I don’t believe you are happy for them because there is ‘no situation’ involved. Your friend won a 1/10000 roll and that will be the only piece of gear he gets that high if he logs on that rarely and plays at that level, and it is eating you alive.

Meanwhile if you are doing content at that level you will be all decked out in that gear in a few months.

I have been doing that ‘welfare’ content every day on 5 characters for months and I have never seen a 425 piece. The most I have seen is 410.

I see you’re posting on an alt so your friends won’t know it’s you that is upset that lesser mortals get gear.

Personally I do enjoy when I get a good Warforge or Titanforge on something. It could easily be on yet another pair of gloves but it keeps me guessing on what will happen next.

I really don’t think much about what gear others have as I never feel like I am out-gearing someone who does higher content and from doing some PvP, they make it quite clear that they can crush me.

Sure. I’ll give you that; however, like a slot machine though, you know you’re spinning the wheel for a prize when you turn in for a loot box, or emmisary reward, or when the boss health gets to 5%… etc.

This is not the same as watching your damage meter, IMO.

My Problem with Warforging and titanforging is there is no system in place to allow you to upgrade your gear over time to match the warforge/titanforge.

Like say you have the random chance of getting the WF/TF just like you do today, but you also have a chance from all gear that is ilvl 350+ to drop increasing amounts of currency depending on ilvl(similar to the residuum) that you can then dump into your gear to increase its ilvl by 5 ilvl increments into whatever the max amount is for that tier.

So uldir was what 400? or 395? then season 2 starts and its 425 now right?

But no its just a slot machine rng mess and thats really unfortunate.

Getting a good forge is exciting in the moment, but overall it makes getting gear feel boring.

I remember seeing the unbreakable will drop in hyjal and I was so excited to win it. (this was THE BEST tanking wep pre sunwell). Im pretty sure I had a big grin on my face for months after that. Gear can be exciting, and gear should be exciting. But when all of it is exciting, nothing is exciting.

Is there anyone that doesn’t? Has anyone ever met someone that plays the slot machines, intentionally, and gets so upset when they score three pumpkins, that they quit?

You silly boo. Of course you enjoy them. This is why scratch-and-wins are a big business, but especially with people that can’t afford them or don’t know why they can’t stop buying them.

I hate it as well. It killed all prestige from doing mythic raiding. Now every casual is walking in same ilvl as mythic raiders…

It also killed “hunting for BiS”, because you will never get your BiS due to extreme RNG and turned whole gearing process into casino.

You’re missing the point that their epeen is hurt.

“It upsets me when I play at a higher skill then most players” yet OP hasn’t even completed a single raid or keystone this expansion, not even LFR…

I dunno if it counts, but I got a 425 ilvl from the first or second week mythic cache of this season and I laughed and felt frustrated. Yeah probably won’t replace that cloak for the rest of the tier (I would be an idiot not to put it on of course) thanks to the stats, even if I get one from mythic raid when we get there. If I get another then there’s another slot with no way to upgrade.

I wasn’t happy, I was just facepalming.

I wanted to add to this. Got 2 great pieces pretty much from the first boss in Mythic and THAT felt good, but working through Heroic it looks like I won’t be able to get any upgrades until Jaina maybe or farther in Mythic thanks to random luck. On one hand, it means I have good gear for progression, on the other hand I have lost some motivation with killing bosses now.

You do realize you are addressing ppl who get their entertainment through bragging right

You don’t see a problem with that sentence? Titanforge and Warforge systems are no more than gambling, so that they can pad numbers and show how many more hours people put in.

In the long run, this is extremely harmful to your playerbase, but for you, in the short run, it’s a nice gain. Unless developers have come to the conclusion that there won’t be a long run - might as well squeeze as much as they can before it’s over.

Eh, I wouldn’t go that far. I hate the system for reasons I listed above, but also mostly know that if I keep progressing through Heroic as my guild intends to do I’ll be all 400s likely before Joe Schmoe pet battler will. There’s a certain lack of permanence to that feeling, as with 400 warfronts, M0 weeklies and Titanforging the casual player will slowly creep up to my gear level over time, and that part kind of sucks, unless I myself get a ton of lucky Titanforges (which in turn might make a Mythic raider feel less prestigious). But that’s a different issue entirely and more related to “freebie” 400 quests being on par with Heroic rewards rather than WF/TF in and of itself.

This part definitely sucks, and ties in to Blizzard’s whole “having multiple alts as geared as your main is a degenerate playstyle” or whatever nonsense the devs spouted during Legion. If you were a raider you decked out your main then ran alt raids, possibly helping some guildies progress and whatnot. You can still do that I suppose, but a part of you might always be thinking, “but WHAT IF my weapon drops Titanforged and I’m not on my main…”

Honestly casuals is not even the problem with TF/WF - It’s the fact that it never ends. You can’t just reach your highest power because things can always go higher because of a gambling system.

And this does not only apply to mythic raiders. A normal raider can have a BiS list just as much as a heroic raider can. Once they reach that point, it’s satisfying knowing your character is geared to your maximum level of skill… but nope, here comes TF/WF, a hidden gambling system.

“Im an elitist. Its so unfair. I deserve the best for the time i invest; even though i pay the same amount each month as those filthy casuals. People who dont have the time to play for hours and hours a day, or people who dont want to deal with the drama and B.S. that comes with raiding; do NOT deserve gear as good as mine”
