Seems odd. So you are going to let people get residium from the single preseason week then? Isn’t it going to be a lot as well, since the system isn’t being scaled up in price this time?
Confused why that would happen.
Just a nice gesture for this playing in the preseason?
Alright so, here’s the short version.
Titan Residuum is a currency acquired from scrapping Azerite gear, and from your weekly M+ box. You accumulate residuum to use at a vendor, where you can purchase random Azerite dungeon pieces based on slot and item level. Item level is what determines the cost.
So if you do a 10 every week, in about 3-4 weeks, you’d have enough residuum to purchase a random piece of Azerite gear, but of sufficient item level. If you get bad traits? Bad juju. If you get lucky? Great.
On the flip, residuum can also be used to purchase mythic quality loot that’s also specific and determined by you but the price is much, much higher. Think 10 weeks worth of not spending any residuum. Probably 12.
If you have other questions, I can explain them. I’m free most of today. Here’s my btag. Hit me up if you’re needing to know something. Shad#1132

I just need to know if the residuum in the chest will be converted to gold.
Scenario 1 - I log on tuesday all my current residuum is converted to gold then I open my chest and get a ton of residuum from my high key the previous week.
Scenario 2 - I log on tuesday all my current residuum is converted to gold then I open my chest and get a little bit of gold from my high key the previous week.
Pretty sure the point of the conversion is to make everyone start at zero TR. So Scenario 1 doesn’t make sense, because you’d open the chest and have TR available while someone who didn’t run a key would have zero – that’s not everyone starting on a clean slate.
Also keep in mind the conversion is 1 TR = 1 silver. So even if you were going to open your chest and get 21500 TR, that’s really only 215g. Underwhelming if you ask me heh.
To say the least. The mail coming for us literally says “…with an amount of coin corresponding to the current fair market value…” Lol.
Guess Blizzard values Residuum about as much as most of the player base.
WHY, Blizz!!! WHY do you continue to PUNISH casual players!!!
I have been working up to my FIRST 445 pc, and I JUST found out NOW, that all of that residuum is going to be converted into SILVER!!! WTFH?! Clue Phone Ring Ring, Blizz! Not EVERYONE is able to run MYTHICS to farm out massive amounts of some made up currency that you randomly decide to put out there as a freakin baited hook!
I had JUST opened up the bonus 4-6k residuum weekly missions a few weeks ago, because I didn’t know they were even a “thing” till the quest popped into my bag after running the side 3man ship expeditions… just to get the weekly quest out of my quest log. I had stopped running the expeditions, because I had hit max on azerite, and it didn’t seem logical to do that anymore. THIS HIDDEN way to farm, is how you end up isolating entire sections of your player base from otherwise attention grabbing content. Just like until that quest random popped, my friends and I had no clue that there was even a way to UPGRADE the azerite powers in the Neck piece, let ALONE farm residuum other than doing Mythics, which we had all given up on ever completing one of those with our conflicting schedules.
This deliberate handicapping of my character, based solely on the fact that I don’t belong to a guild that CAN run Mythics weekly, makes me seriously have to reconsider, yet again, WHY I even continue to pay to play a game, that repeatedly seems to be trying to tell me, it does NOT want me as a player. How is it, that just because I don’t belong to a guild setting world firsts, that my money is somehow worth LESS than theirs?

Some notes: (TR=Titanium Residue)
-zero TR from scrapping/deing azerite armor that is pre-8.3
-current costs on PTR are: 445 item - 175 TR; 460 item - 900 TR; 475 item - 4750 TR
-mission table treasure map rewards 487 TR if you get TR as the primary reward
Sorry but if you’ve been at it since the season started, then I don’t believe you. I’d like to think this isn’t a troll post considering all the paragraphs but even by playing casually, you could have gotten a few 445 Azerites.

I think I am missing something here.
If I have 150k TR before the patch, and the cost is 200k before the patch then I still need 50k TR. Then after the patch I still have 150k TR, and the cost is 200k, which means I still have 50k to go, which will take (since I only get TR from M+) several weeks to get the next piece.
So… Unless the problem is that the majority of players have +1.2M TR exta that they cannot spend. Is that the problem? Because otherwise I don’t get it.
They’ve announced that all your TR will be converted to silver at the start of patch 8.3 on 1/14 at the rate of 1 TR = 1 silver. From 1/14 thru 1/20 you won’t be able to accumulate any TR. On 1/21 season four starts and you will be able to accumulate TR once again and there will be new prices for 445, 460 and 475 Azerite gear.
This simply unbelievable. That’s it
