C’mon. You know you wanna play a prot with a polearm or big ol’ 2H sword/axe/mace in main hand and shield.
Maybe it could be part of a new hero talent tree if they add more.

This concept was actually looked at for colossus before it was changed early on.
I would have loved it.

tank as fury colossus plus spear and shield? Just a dream.
I’d be keen, only for simplicity of gearing’s sake since it would make gearing between specs a little less painful, in having to get at least 1x max ilvl 1h weapon when your dps specs just use 2h weapons for both.
Totally not rocking a 626 1h/shield combo right now because M track 1h/shield didn’t drop dupes that people didn’t need. 
Man, that’s a bummer they dropped it. I didn’t know they were considering this for Colossus. That would’ve been perfect. Hopefully they’ll revisit this idea in Midnight or The Last Titan.

It’s been overdue for years. Seriously, I basically main prot this season but holy crap am I always trying to fill my mog out with the biggest 1H I can find.
It just doesn’t feel right to be so strong and humungous using these little 1H weapons anymore.
It also logically makes no sense because we are either using a 2H bilaterally or unilaterally for the other two specs. Just cut the cord already.

It would also further distinguish prot war from prot paly even more class fantasy-wise since currently they both have the same 1H and Shield tanking weapon setup, and more than that, it’s just cool.
