Wait for the devs to do the last major balancing pass before auto-pilot sets in.
Pick a meta class.
And then start seriously pushing.
Yes I get there is artificial inflation. But the way it is currently designed: Any kind of ranked play you do is just “practice” before seriously pushing titles you care about, or trying to set a PR or something. Because it basically incentivizes waiting until the end of the season.
Why not make the titles more achievable when there is still all the hype around pvp in the beginning of the season?? Like we lose 90% of the playerbase after the first couple of weeks anyway. Why not test a season where MMR becomes maxed out after a month and just see what happens to player retention? There is nothing to lose with trying this at least once (they did it in DF s4 because it was a Fated season and it actually was the best season in DF)
I would argue they still cater to a small % of players. Just looking at the numbers a lot of people stop/quit by 1800. They spread them out a little in War Within but above 1800 in all brackets is still an absurdly small %/amount of players. There needs to be some more grindy rewards for just playing other than the mount progress bar. The rewards are also to shared. The brackets need some individual rewards.
I don’t know if adding more free rewards will really provide too much incentive for people. There are already quite a few. You get a free mount, free base set of gear, relatively free elite sets, pretty easy wep illusion too. If all that doesn’t draw someone in adding more free stuff on top of that probably wont either.
There was a blue post in DF about there being clearly defined phases

Push for final rewards
I don’t fully agree with it and see the appeal for shorter seasons but I also travel a lot for work so it’s nice knowing I can miss a full month of the season and it doesn’t matter at all
Season starts, but only after 1-2months all rewards (except the saddle grind) unlock based on % on the ladder. → Gain rating for the first month or two, then the rating cut-offs roll out for all rewards, elite sets, titles, glad mounts, whatever → you can dip into these %s mid-season too and you can fall off from them, but you won’t lose achieved rewards.
To prevent the % chase, the ladder updates at x intervals, so in theory there can be slightly more in 10% during that interval time.
