Been waiting for TBC for many many years as you maybe can tell by my char avatar lol.
I’m currently leveling an UD warlock on Mankrik and want to play it in arenas. Can you offer your tips/tricks that turn a good warlock into a great one in pvp?
I have gone up to 2/6 SWP on a Warlock so I know the class but have never done any pvp with one at all. Any and all tips are welcome!
I think the best things you can have are mouseover and focus macros for your pets utility spells. At the very least have them keybound. I also like to have macros with Fel Domination to switch pets instantly if you need a quick seduce or sacrifice etc.
You need the pet control of Hunter and battlefield awareness of a Priest.
You’ll most likely be sl/sl spec and like Rusloc said you need HEAVY micro management of your Felhunter to actually be competent.
It’s possible to open world/BG PvP as Fire Destro spec and just try to nuke people with Seduce but that’s probably not going to fly well in Arena. Might be better than expected though, I remember seeing some Dragon’s Breath Fire Mage PvP video back then when Frost was the dominant PvP spec so it’s not off the table.
The best advice is to find TBC private server or arena communities, do a deep dive into what the best players do. Asking for advice here isn’t going to get you much useful information
Play with the mindset of an old man in the middle of a battlefield. You know you don’t have the athletics that you used to so you can’t quite run like the younger more agile mages. But you still want to inflict pain from a far. (Ideally without them knowing)
