So i haven’t really played since legion, i wasnt around for the whole shiny to polished swap. I don’t have anything done in BFA and SL and feel like i’m missing out on WQ’s and missions. I have the WoD garrison and Legion mission tables but neither of those give polished.
Can anyone help me out as to what i should do to get these things in the most timely fashion? Like in what order should i set up the mission tables/what shouldn’t I bother with/etc?
Thanks fam <3
Dragon Isles and its 1 pet WQ per day isn’t much use for accumulating Polished Charms.
Shadowlands is still where I do most of my Charm farming and think it took some work to open up the pet WQs there. BfA zones kind of hit-and-miss, occasional useful drops but useless stuff too.
According to one of our most reliable forum contributors, the Tuesday patch will put pet WQs in each DF zone and there’ll be 5 of those. That may be huge benefit for Charm farmers.
All of these require beating pet teams, some of which are tricky. You may need to beef up your pet collection to handle some of the WQs.

i’ve already easily beaten every challenge mode instance as well as the celestial tournament to get every pet there, I should be able to handle the battles.
Do you use the charms to save up to buy other pets? Or battle stones? What’s the most effective way to use them? So far i’ve mainly been farming WoD (tanaan jungle can drop some really expensive pets) and some pandaria

Those are going to be your main sources for PPCs. SLs is pretty easy to unlock, BfA is…not so easy. I just did a fresh account unlock so I could do a guide about it, meaning I had absolutely nothing done, and it took me a bit to get it unlocked. It’ll be a little easier after 10.0.7, since you won’t need BfA pathfinder for flying, but still.
That said, 10.0.7 is also going to increase the number of pet battle WQs we have from 1 to 5, which is 1 short of BfA’s 6.

You’re gonna have to school me as to that garrison stuff lol
In addition to SL WQ’s, I get about 0-30+ per pady pwt alt sitting at their SL mission table if they do just that and none of the WQ’s.
Also those very same alts are now aalo, sometimes goibg out and doing the DF pet battle WQ’s and leveling themselves as well. I jist hearth them back to the SL tavle or do the quests via the app.
What shows up to do on the mission tables is RNG heavy, but with my main and maybe 2 alts, the command table missions in BFA and Shadowlands regularly give me about 700-800 polished pet charms every few weeks. BFA table missions are a little more generous because of the bonus at 200% success. I play Horde only these days, but I do recall that a few world quests in BFA on the Alliance side that rewarded polished pet tokens, while the Horde reward was always something other than polished pet tokens.
Problem with BFA is thar you need to get more resources. With SL, that is done on the mission table. Heck, I get so much excess, I buy pets with it to sell.
I’m probably a weird player, I have so many order hall and war resources that I can hardly imagine ever running out. Same thing with garrison resources when those matter, never was short of those. But, then, after ruining two keyboards and one rug from motion sickness during DF, I now only run old content for transmog and mounts.
Go figure.

I do the Garrison for gold (cards of omen, engineering stuff which sells well), pets (from seeds from the garden, and pet battles), and bank, auction and port hub.
My BFA alts ran out of resources and I don’t want to work to gather up more. I do the WQ pet battles on occasion and am working slowly to get my Dracthyr run through it.
You don’t necessarily have to level up your pets to beat WQ’s. In fact, in some cases, it’s better if you don’t. WQs now adjust to your level. If you take on a WQ with level ones, your opponents will be level one.
As for what you get with WQs, you can get a variety of things. Yes, you can get polished pet charms. You can also get leveling stones, and blue stones.
As for the Garrison stuff, how much schooling do you need? Do you have a Garrison?
I no longer touch world pet battle quests, I have 5 alts running the shadowlands adventure table and each toon gives roughly 50 tokens a day, Ive got 10k sitting in the bank, I buy level 25 stones for each new pet I get.
Not garrison sorry I was referring to the BfA table.
I know how to use the WoD garrison but it only rewards shiny charms.
To be quite honest the only reason i want the polished charms is to save up to buy the pet that costs a ton of em. Blue stones I can get from other places. (IE doing the daily fly around pandaria trainers)
Anyway yeah i have never even ENTERED the BfA zone yet so i have no clue wtf to do there
Today an especially good day for charms, doing all the BfA, Shadowlands, and Dragonflight charm-dropping WQs will get you 168 of them. This with some work, of course, and the right teams.
Rewards from pet WQs are highly variable, for me at least means starting the day checking around to see what’s available and deciding which ones are worth working on.
You’re not missing much. On the Alliance continent today there’s one 18-charm WQ, other one is bandages. The Horde continent’s two pet WQs are bandages and some purely BfA currency that’s useless anywhere else. This seems to be fairly normal far as charm farming.
Getting to other faction’s zones involves some pre-reqs and is a bit tedious.
