So i’ve really be digging assassination rogue, and want to switch to that for my main.
I average like 90kish in raids at 288, and I feel like no matter what I do, my DPS does not seem to improve. Have probably spent a solid 20 hours at training dummies the last week since coming back but I don’t seem to get anyway much higher, and would sit anything from 65k to 90k on them and parsing grey in logs.
I’ve watched a lot of videos and tutorials, but feel like I haven’t gotten much better, if at all.
Play Fatebound (Deathstalker is more advanced, learn it later)
Read this www.wowhead.com/guide/classes/rogue/assassination/rotation-cooldowns-pve-dps and pay special attention to the “?” note around Implacable. Be sure to understand what Implacable does and when to intentionally drop the buff in single/low target situations.
The guide is very good. Read all parts of the priority/opener for both single target and AoE.
That said, Assassination is about to get some changes in S2 which is going to change some things with how the spec is played. You might be better off just waiting for S2 and the guide update.
To be fair, Implacable is changing the very next patch, so like, in three weeks? That info is gonna be outdated. So if OP is looking to improve for 12.1, they’ll have to relearn a lot anyway.
You should always check Wíspyr’s Youtube channel. He is the Assa Discord maintainer/TC and Wowhead guide writer (Deathweaver’s link to Whíspyr’s guide)
He usually creates a new video when new patchnotes or server builds are released.
If you have watched a lot of videos and tutorials along with target dummy practice my best advice is to change up some of your talents. These talents are often recommended for best in slot gearing and circumstances and if you are not fully geared it might be prudent to change around some talents.
Usually you can change 2-3 talents around and that can help often without sacrificing max DPS at much. You can run a sim with your current gear set up to see it in theoretical action too.
Good luck and welcome to the Rogue forums as you are deeply valued!
Just ignore what Mafic wrote. He hasn’t played any PvE content since Legion (roughly 10 years). He is well known for spreading misinformation on these forums.
There are no gear dependent spec builds. Just rely on Whíspyr’s builds on Wowhead for each content scenario and you are settled. Gear has nothing to do with it and you are at 288 ilvl already.
Also wowhead is under new management now and I would not trust wowhead content at this point. Perculia was the one overseeing this content and she was one of the best in the business but no longer associated with wowhead. Without her gudiance I would not trust anyone that promotes wowhead at this point wthout Perculia not being in the fold. Perculia was and still is a highly respect person in the WoW community. We wish her good luck but I would go to icyveins over wowhead at this point.
Same old clueless Mafic. The talent builds have nothing to do with the websites they are accessible at.
All guides are from the Rogue Discord TCs (Whispyr, Fuu, Eleem, Stealthi, Foreverguy, Seliathan) and the builds are all the same no matter which website you go to.
You were wrong with the “best in slot gearing” talent builds nonsense and now you are wrong with the allegedly wrong rogue build content on wowhead.
Hey, how about you learn to play and understand the Rogue class instead of just posting drivel most of the time.
I have not being wrong with anything and in fact the truth is that I would not recommend Rogue discord anymore because they are associated with wowhead now. And because of that reason I would recommend other websites for Rogue and WoW resources now.
That is my honest and objective truth and I will steer these new and returning players to better and honest sources of information.
Not always because it is common int his era with gen z to steal people’s work and pass it off as their own instead of giving credit.
That is why when you do not give credit to the people that do the work it goes on record for the world to see. Be respectful, be patient and be nice to others that contribute their work. Let the WoW team to continue making a great WoW MN expansion. Rogues are fantastic in MN.
No one said there is no collaboration but if you are copy and pasting others work that is problematic. And that is why icyveins overall is considered different content compared to wowhead outside of exceptions. That is why icyveins is becoming more popular for class guides and resources.
You realize something? The guides are all from our Rogue Discord mods. They all know each other, talk to each other, do technical talent discussion with each other.
You say you’d only trust Icy Veins but the guide writers there are the exact same people you don’t trust…
…I would not recommend Rogue discord anymore because they are associated with wowhead now.
You’re contradicting yourself in most of your posts. That’s also the reason why no reasonable discussion is possible with you as you can’t accept when you’re proven wrong. How sad.
