Tips for Sire Heroic?

My guild as been hard stuck on this boss for like a month now and its starting to get on my nerves lol

Like what should each role do specifically or something, maybe something to help fix mistakes we might be doing, etc.

First Phase is pretty much good, its largely the second and third one screwing us over.

Make his hp 0, keep yours above 0. Collect loot.

In all seriousness there’s a lot of things that could be going wrong. Make sure people watch their feet and don’t get thrown off the platform. Be aggressive about soaking the orbs in P3, a single orb detonation is almost always a wipe. Always be cognizant of positioning in P3 as a bad knockback position can easily kill people. Ideally, push him into P3 before getting the third add set. Other then that… DPS MOAR.

Step 1: Phase 1 is not a DPS check unless your DPS is trash. Immunities are used to solo soak the lines if and only if those solo soaks are called out. Ideal thing I like to do is Ranged / Everyone / Everyone / Melee or Odds / All / All / Even alongside a preassigned healing cooldown for each set of Johnnies. DKs and Shamans do not get hit by the frontal cone EVER. Especially not DKs. If you’re getting hit by it as a DK you are actively inting.

Step 2: Don’t get knocked off. Whether that’s dying adds’ Crescendos in P2, walking off the platform or placing the boss poorly for Hand of Destruction, or getting blown off by Shattering Pain in P3, don’t get knocked off. This is the #1 cause of death on this fight. Period.

Step 3: Don’t get hit by the Massacres. They kill you. End of story. Do. Not. Get. Hit. By. Them.

Step 4: Whoever takes the first Wracking in P2 is going to be in charge of positioning the boss for every Hand of Destruction. Taunt after each and the other tank deals with Remornia as his/her Wracking stack falls off.

Step 5: POINT DONNY AT THE ADDS. You can hit the ones on the platform with good tank positioning and it makes the ranged swap a lot less annoying since the melee adds will be easily cleaved down at the start.

Step 6: Prioritize getting two sets of adds unless your DPS is poor. The headache of getting a third set of adds (four adds in pairs on opposite sides) is not worth it. I’m serious, man. You do this by popping your cooldowns at the start of P2 (start holding CDs at ~80%) and cleaving the melee adds onto the boss, and then ranged swapping to the far adds once CDs are done.

Step 7: Soak placements are everything in P3. The order, if memory serves me, is Soaks into Hand, Soaks into Soaks, Soaks mid-Massacre, Soaks into Hand, and Soaks into Hand.

a. Soaks into Hand is simple. Ranged drop them decently far out but not extremely far away and ranged be soaking them until he grips everyone in for Hand of Destruction, in which case you pop a healing CD alongside either personal CDs or a raid defensive like SLT/Rally/Devo. You eventually have MUCH LESS real estate for it so make sure you’re using your real estate well. DO NOT drop the orbs in places where you won’t be able to soak them because of a Hand.

b. Soaks into Soaks is simple. First set drops their orbs further out, second set drops theirs close enough that MDPS can help.

c. Soaks into Massacre is simple enough. Those who drop orbs will be soaking them unless they cannot, and after Massacre ends everyone will soak them if possible.

Step 8: Plan your positioning for Shattering Pain. It knocks you away from wherever the boss is at that moment. Tanks should save a defensive for it because this boss absolutely rips them to pieces in P3. If a tank dies at any point during Shattering Pain the knockback will INSTANTLY happen.

Step 9: A Shattering Pain will always come out in the middle of the second Ravage cast. Use that Shattering Pain’s knockback to manually knock you out of the Ravage instead of moving out of the Ravage only to get knocked off.

Step 10: Lust in P3 as soon as 2-minutes are available unless your DPS is good enough to effectively skip a set of adds in P2. If you’re good enough to skip a set of P2 adds with Lust you’re probably good enough to do P3 before anything gets too out of control.

So had a look at your logs to see whats going on and a few things. The dps in the group is greatly underperforming with multiple doing less than your tanks. The adds on ranged side are up way too long still alive when then next set spawn this is putting out so much extra dmg for your healers that you are running 4 why? The group size isn’t large enough to justify this and the dps being very low just makes it worse. Remoria dmg is non existant and that us confusing as you have dot/cleave dps, all dmg to remoria also goes to sire. Cooldowns is a major issue. For example hunters not using sotf why? Also they are great seed soakers in phase 3 as can turtle solo soak the whole thing.

Tldr. Sit a healer or have them go dps, use cooldowns when needed, use cleave multi dot, focus adds over sire p2. Look at benching those who are holding you back.

Phase 2: Call for DPS to stop hitting adds if you know the red line spam attack is about to come. Dodging a bunch of knockback swirls during that gets people killed. That aside, this phase shouldn’t really be that difficult. Much of the damage is avoidable and the damage that isn’t is predictable.

Tanks need to make sure to swap Remornia too. Her stacking debuff is killer if its ignored.

If getting the adds down in reasonable time is the issue… make sure people who CAN are helping on the ranged adds. That might mean throwing a Rogue with grapple or Warrior with leap or something onto it. Getting the add down and having a few seconds of downtime before jumping back is better than taking too long to down the adds. Venthyr teleports, too.

Phase 3: Tanks really need to have most if not all of their defensive cooldowns ready to cycle for this phase. It hurts. A lot. More than any other boss but maybe Enraged Sludgefist – but you only have to deal with Enraged Sludgefist for a tiny amount of time. If tanks are doing okay on prior phases, it might be worth it to swap talents to defensive CDs they might not normally take.

Other than that… how many people do you bring? Soaking the orbs needs to be done ASAP and it’s easier to get a handle on it with more people. And if you’re melee heavy, yes, that might mean jumping off the boss entirely. If you’re trying to 10-man or something, you’re going to struggle.

Call out when the knockback is going to happen during red line spam so people can prepare.

Tanks need to be on top of positioning. If the falloff AoE isn’t as far in the corner as it can get for the latter half of p3, it’s going to get people killed.

In time? they can do that? by themselves?

If im honest, its been inconsistent, with people not coming some days, its usually around 15 lately

Just replace everyone below 3.5k dps that’s not a healer and a tank on phase 3

Go here

And post your guilds warcraft logs link. Then behold.

Aspect of the Turtle will not save you from Massacre, so if you have hunters trying to use that to save themselves tell them to not waste their time.

Not on their own no. The rate at which orbs are soaked is linear per person. The more damage it puts out the faster it goes away meaning more people = faster soaks. 1 person can not soak the orbs fast enough.

This might help

Don’t kill adds when a Hand of Destruction is about to go out (within 4 seconds.)

Make sure you use defensive cooldowns effectively in the third phase, preferably when you have to soak + a Hand of Destruction is happening.

Where are you checking this stuff btw?

And about those 4, how they perform overall? not just last week (Been stuck on this boss for a while now)

And again , where do i see all of this??

Oof. The group I did it with took 60 attempts to get our 1st kill.

But OP, the best piece of advice I can give you is pick a guide to watch and then have everyone in the group watch that same guide and then practice the strat in that guide.

Well we currently at attempt 107 i think.

What if I told you on my monk,

I have one attempt at sire HC and we killed it. And it was a pug using in game voice

Now I’m the real winner
