Step 1: Phase 1 is not a DPS check unless your DPS is trash. Immunities are used to solo soak the lines if and only if those solo soaks are called out. Ideal thing I like to do is Ranged / Everyone / Everyone / Melee or Odds / All / All / Even alongside a preassigned healing cooldown for each set of Johnnies. DKs and Shamans do not get hit by the frontal cone EVER. Especially not DKs. If you’re getting hit by it as a DK you are actively inting.
Step 2: Don’t get knocked off. Whether that’s dying adds’ Crescendos in P2, walking off the platform or placing the boss poorly for Hand of Destruction, or getting blown off by Shattering Pain in P3, don’t get knocked off. This is the #1 cause of death on this fight. Period.
Step 3: Don’t get hit by the Massacres. They kill you. End of story. Do. Not. Get. Hit. By. Them.
Step 4: Whoever takes the first Wracking in P2 is going to be in charge of positioning the boss for every Hand of Destruction. Taunt after each and the other tank deals with Remornia as his/her Wracking stack falls off.
Step 5: POINT DONNY AT THE ADDS. You can hit the ones on the platform with good tank positioning and it makes the ranged swap a lot less annoying since the melee adds will be easily cleaved down at the start.
Step 6: Prioritize getting two sets of adds unless your DPS is poor. The headache of getting a third set of adds (four adds in pairs on opposite sides) is not worth it. I’m serious, man. You do this by popping your cooldowns at the start of P2 (start holding CDs at ~80%) and cleaving the melee adds onto the boss, and then ranged swapping to the far adds once CDs are done.
Step 7: Soak placements are everything in P3. The order, if memory serves me, is Soaks into Hand, Soaks into Soaks, Soaks mid-Massacre, Soaks into Hand, and Soaks into Hand.
a. Soaks into Hand is simple. Ranged drop them decently far out but not extremely far away and ranged be soaking them until he grips everyone in for Hand of Destruction, in which case you pop a healing CD alongside either personal CDs or a raid defensive like SLT/Rally/Devo. You eventually have MUCH LESS real estate for it so make sure you’re using your real estate well. DO NOT drop the orbs in places where you won’t be able to soak them because of a Hand.
b. Soaks into Soaks is simple. First set drops their orbs further out, second set drops theirs close enough that MDPS can help.
c. Soaks into Massacre is simple enough. Those who drop orbs will be soaking them unless they cannot, and after Massacre ends everyone will soak them if possible.
Step 8: Plan your positioning for Shattering Pain. It knocks you away from wherever the boss is at that moment. Tanks should save a defensive for it because this boss absolutely rips them to pieces in P3. If a tank dies at any point during Shattering Pain the knockback will INSTANTLY happen.
Step 9: A Shattering Pain will always come out in the middle of the second Ravage cast. Use that Shattering Pain’s knockback to manually knock you out of the Ravage instead of moving out of the Ravage only to get knocked off.
Step 10: Lust in P3 as soon as 2-minutes are available unless your DPS is good enough to effectively skip a set of adds in P2. If you’re good enough to skip a set of P2 adds with Lust you’re probably good enough to do P3 before anything gets too out of control.
