Never healed before but I think holy is cool as heck.
Any tips? I am currently reading icy veins.

Grab an addon, VuhDo is very much recommended.
Watch a youtube clip on how to set it up.
While you’re on Youtube, check out some channels.
Watch for dispels.
When comfortable, dps while in quiet parts.
Make sure to learn your cooldowns.
how do u watch for dispels?
With an app such as VuhDo, the panel will change colour for the affected party member.
Binds some mouse buttons, and mouse over macros to keyboard.
I usually have dispel as the middle mouse button, and main heals as button 1, 2 and the wheels.
Post on your paladin so we can see your gear, talents and neck essence. Normally in Neck Essence you want to use Vision of Perfection. Try to have 3x Glimmer of Light Traits in Azerite Gear and 1x Breaking Dawn. There is other build as well but Glimmer is far more popular and fun. As Holy Paladin, Only thing you want is Critical Strike. You make sure your all gear has critical strike and then Haste/Versatility. As Holy you always want to Cast Holy Shock, It’s your main Healing Spell. Occasionally you want to cast Flash of Light to top off someone. Do not cast it continuously, it will make you OOM very Fast. You will only Cast Holy Light when Infusion of Light Procs. Otherwise always cast Flash of Light and Holy Shock. Put beacon of Light on Tank. When you cast Holy Shock on someone it leave a Debuff called Glimmer. If you any other person, the person with Glimmer Debuff also healed. Holy Paladin is a melee healer means you are most of the times standing near melee player/boss and cast Crusader Strike. Casting Crusader Strike is important because it reduces the CD of Holy Shock. The more Crusader Strike, the more holy shock you will do. the more holy shock you do, the more Glimmer you will spread around player and more healing. When whole team is taking Damage try Aura Mastery. When u r only taking Damage, Try Divine Wall. When u want to save someone from getting Aggro, put BOP on him. When u want to save a Tank or DPS from almost Dyeing, Cast Lay on Hands. When you want to Save someone from getting Smashed, Try Blessing of Sacrifice. And you want to save your A$$, try Bubble. Paladin’s only AOE healing spell is Breaking Dawn . When players are stacked and you have nothing to use, use it.
Ty for reply, i cant post on him yet as I posted him earlier today, but I have him some black empire gear and he has 3 stacks of glimmer, had really good luck I guess.
How many point and click macros should I use? The blessing seem a tad excessive given how long their cooldowns are.
And where should I go for information? Currently using icy veins.
Wingsisup. com is the best m+ guide and you can join their discord from there. Idk about a good raiding guide
OK, for Healing don’t go for Any Healing Addons first, This Vuhdoo, Healbot is kind of Hassle to set up for First timer. Use Default Blizzard Raid Frames and make some Mouse Over Macro. If you use Blizzard Default Raid Frames , there is one option for Showing Dispell able Buff, Click on it. It will Show you what you can dispell. Pretty Neat, Clean and Easy. About the Macro, It will save you from Clicking on each Player Raid Frame. Your Macro Should be Like This. Just Replace Spell Name with Holy Shock/Flash of Light/Holy Light/Freedom/Sacrifice/Protection/lay on hands
#showtooltip Spell Name
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][] Spell Name
#showtooltip Cleanse
/cast [@mouseover] Cleanse
As Paladin Healer first thing you should learn is time your CD’s . When to Pop What. All of Paladin’s CD’s is situational but they are very powerful. Try not to overlap your CD’s with Tank/DPS’s CD. Say 2nd Boss in Underrot. You need to make sure you some some kind of CD,s going in Each Tantrum. As you play more and more, you will learn . and there are a lot tips in wowhead/icyvein/mmo champion. go through them.
do I only use mouse over for my heals and cleanse? or?
Holy Shock/Flash of Light/Holy Light/Freedom/Sacrifice/Protection/lay on hands/cleanse. make mouseover macro for everything i mentioned here.
what do u attack enemies with? judgement and that? and I assume you use holy flash to heal
Crusader Strike/Judgement/Consecration/Holy Shock. Crusader Strike is your main preference.
I’d suggest ElVui for UI change when you get there, very customisable and clean. I used vuhdu for years and a healer friend showed me ElVui and I was in love. I pair it with an add on called clique witch always you too completely put all those that would be mouse overs to your mouse buttons. I literally have everything I use for healing without ever having to double check my positioning at all. It allows alt, shift, Ctrl mods as well.
Also something that was kind of mentioned but not given enough credit is haste for glimmer build. The more haste you have the better! Crit should be high but haste is King! It allows more cdr for crusader strike which brings your main heal holy shock of CD faster along with everything else.
Also if you get super lucky with great try to get a piece with glimmer and a ret one I can’t think of off the top of my head that gives you 5 more seconds with avenging wrath. You only need 1 but it’s super helpful if you can get it! Good luck and hope you have fun!!!
Made macros for all of them, excited to try it out. Hope to meet some of you ingame sometime.
I swapped to full time healing this tier from maining DPS for all of the 12yrs Ive played WOW. The best advice I can give is go out and play. Doing PvP will also help a lot. Get into as many raids as you can. Im still getting used to all of my binds. I actually messed up pretty bad BOPing a tank when I wanted to SAC tonight. Its just my muscle memory isnt completely there.
Go out and get comfortable at being in many different situations and learning how to react. Youll get it.
Do not just stack crit, it depends on the affix but mastery and haste are viable
