Best professions to make gold?
Herbalism hands down. Especially with how much consumables Naxx wants at the start.

Pair that with Alchemy or something different! I just came back to classic after years of not playing. Mostly play solo.
Yep, herbalism and alchemy is a good combo! Potions are very lucrative and always in demand.

If you are willing to go out and gather then its herb/mining easy. If you mean professions to make gold running back and forth in town all day alchemy/enchanting. Obviously the latter require upfront investment (although not huge) and above average market knowledge.

Don’t waste your time with professions. They’re a major time and gold sink. There’s a reason Jokerd, world’s first 60, skipped them. Focus on leveling first. Do not waste your time mining. These other gathering professions will just take up your inventory slot.
Herbalism and Mining together.
Walking right past all the nodes as you’re leveling then having to go back to a bunch of low level zones at 60 to level mining isn’t wasting time? lol
correct. The game is too progressed to waste your time mining. The best two professions for a solo leveling is enchanting+skinning and create an alt to 10 with leatherworking+tailoring because anything you kill can be put to use for either of those. Humanoids drop silk which can be crafted to gear and beasts can be skinned after killing them. Send all of the silk and leather to your alt to craft. This is how you get ahead in fresh servers if you’re looking to make gold. The alt can later be used for cured rugged hide and mooncloth.
