Tips appreciated but not required

That’s what the mage said.

But then when I didn’t leave a tip I received a quasi-rude whisper about how he’s not a charity and was then put on ignore.

Free food once at least.

Well, apparently appreciates tips. He didn’t make any claims about not getting a tip and his response.

Eh, to be honest, this is sorta a “social skills” kinda thing. No, that’s not snark. No one can explain this to someone that doesn’t get it in a satisfactory way.

I make mage water and food free to whom ever asks, does’t cost me anything.

^ LOL that’s your fault if you wanna gimp yourself & think others shouldn’t show appreciation.

Anyone who does this “tip required” stuff clearly is an idiot since they don’t know what the word “tip” means.

That said though it’s always bothered me people who ask for a tip for literally doing nothing but clicking a button. It comes off as incredibly entitled and arrogant.

Naw you’re right. “Gimme free stuff” just exudes “charm”.

With that mentality, best stop tipping waitresses & waiters, since they should just exist to serve you. :joy:

That’s a gray area since those are pity tips due to the way restaurants are allowed to screw people over, and you know it. No, they shouldn’t get tips. They should get paid a decent wage like everybody else. I don’t get a tip just for doing my job.

But asking for a tip for doing nothing in a game is a different story entirely.

Level 60 and can’t even give 1g+ for food is laughable. Go friggin buy food from the food vendor and sthu.

You know damn well they’re conjuring food/water for money when they are putting it in trade chat, but you’re just being cheap. Ask a guild mage to make you food if you want to be a cheap as$.

I’m embarrassed you’re on my server.

The point just flew right over your head. “Nothing” is a gray area to some too. Would’nt it just be easier to show appreciation & not think you’re owed? Big difference.

This. My point exactly.

The person asking for the tip is the one who thinks they’re owed.

Now who knows they’re full of it. They are doing you are courtesy & you justify just being a taker. Quality.

Hmmm…NPCs can’t use the gold we give them for anything we buy or repairs. Why have them charge gold? They’re just pixels programmed to stand around and do nothing. What gives them the right to demand compensation for their infinitely spawning stacks of roast mutton? NPC vendors are so stuck up…

you do you, I will always make it for free.

Yeah, I will. You too.

You are the people I innervate afterwards so you can make more water to give to people and maybe get more tips!

It depends though. I do tip if I ask a mage for water in IF/SW. I do not tip if I get it in a dungeon because I don’t think it’s appropriate. I’ll still innervate at the start of the dungeon though to speed things up a bit

They’re spending their game time providing a service to you instead of questing, farming etc. That time can add up if they do it for multiple people. You expect them to provide that service for free. And then you call them incredibly entitled and arrogant. rotflmfao

Not to mention they don’t have a problem having to give a few gold to an NPC vendor for food/water that just gets thrown into the void. Even just tossing a gold the mage’s way you’re still saving money at level 60, and they can actually use it, but I guess to some people that’s a preposterous notion.

I would say they just think of mages as vending machines but that’s a terrible analogy because you still have to give money to vending machines to get something from them…

Dang that’s true, even throw away food gets more respect! :joy:
Respect. It should be standard. It’s a choice what kinda person you wanna be.

Tips.
