If you have issues with drive try useing the mouse double click feature of the base keybinds. Holding down both buttons on the mouse will cause you to walk. You can tap the left key off and on like a gas pedal.
Im not really enjoying “drive” but this has help. The zones a bit to cramped to drive around atm.

this is one of my complaints with the drive system. they gave us these cars that can go fast and drift and such but put us in such cramped, tight quarters with all kinds of obstacles.

This is a good tip. I wonder how many people are hitting numlock and letting Jesus take the wheel.
It’s okay to let off the gas and/or feather the pedal.

Lol, that’s what I do. The car has no breaks, so I hit my dismount macro at the last second.

also, go into customize your car at shop and one option is called “something cruiser” lowers inital burst of speed and makes it a bit easier to drive around too. description is “for people who want to enjoy the scenery more”
I always wak/fly/now drive with my mouse. I’m okay with it except turning sharp corners. Takes me a few tries. It’s like some lousy driver backing into a parking space and going back and forth multiple times ( losing any time advantage of pulling straight out when they leave).
More practice!
Letting go make it coast to a stop. Can we have brakes?
you can use the walk backwards key to apply breaks. theres no way to do it with the two mouse buttons
Down arrow? Someone up there said use a hotkey for dismounting…which I have and use. Just would like to just stop to look around or talk to quest givers but that just dismounts you. Which makes sense if lots of people were trying to talk to the NPC.
Will get used to it eventually.
The best tip I got was not to use your mouse at all when driving. Also tilt your camera slightly downwards on your car, for some reason it helps with maneuvering.
It would be nice if Blizzard made moving your camera not affect the maneuvering of the car at all. It’s very odd and makes turning suck.
Everyone is talking about drifting in the other threads. I basically drive the car like an old man, tapping the accelerator to keep things under control. I almost never drift.
Honestly, half the time I have no idea where I am or where to go. LOL
I basically have to check the map and plan a route before going anywhere. With luck I won’t take a wrong turn somewhere.

Car go zoom. Here’s 10 feet of runway. Much fun.
How often are you getting D/ced doing this? I’ve got my dismount on my mouse thumb and 5/8 times that I’ve dismounted when driving around to pick up things cause me to D/c.
Tip for DRIVE:
Remove it.
It’s a failure. We tried it, it didn’t work, chalk it up to a well-attempted effort, and don’t re-implement any variation of it again.

They never fixed flappy bird flying disconnects. It’s a feature. Every time you disconnect it gives you a chance to go buy another mount in the shop.

Honestly, all I want is to be able to change keybinds for it.
Jump and Drift in the same button is not a good idea.
I can go fast and do narrow corners with drift with ease, no need to brake or slow down, but the inconsistencies of drift because of jump really bothers me.
Ah, and an easier way to dismount.

This, please. I missed so many rares from having to dismount before being able to get the tag on them. For some reason the dismount is SO slow on the car, way worse than just putting an ability on your skyriding bar and it immediately dismounts you and gets the tag.
I’ve actually had better success getting to rares and getting the tags on them on a regular ground mount lol.
I haven’t disconnected while driving the hotrod yet. I hated it at first, but I equipped the gentle engine and the efficient booster. Once I figured out how to drift it became enjoyable.

Pressing back almost immediately kills all momentum.
