Gnomes and goblins aren’t popular. Most people disdain Mechagon and Gnomeregan.

Gnomes and goblins aren’t the only tinkers/artificers/engineers/techies.

The following races have had something of the sort.

Dwarf, Gnome, Draenei, Orc, Undead, Blood Elf, Goblin.

Any there is no reason anyone can’t learn to be a tinker/machinist/etc.

Some classes raise the dead, summon demons, breath fire, stealth, shapeshift, etc. I can’t think of a more boring idea for a class than building things to throw at people, especially considering their methods can quite literally be taught to anyone through engineering.

Your lack of imagination is… disapointing. Way more to tinkers then throwing things. Imagine piloting a bad-azz mech.

Everyone hated Gnomeragan and Mechagon. There were constant complaints about that sh-hole.

Do you have a source that the reason they were hating it because it was tech centric?

Or did it have to do with the content itself? not the theme?

The upcoming Goblin dlc doesn’t look anything like the typical tinker themes we’ve had previously. It looks more like a city nightlife with cars and casinos which hasn’t been done yet. Its something new (thankfully).

Reskin tinker theme is still tinker themes. Tech class is tech class.

I will never understand people’s obsession with this class idea. Even if it comes to pass, I probably won’t “get it”. It just has too much overlap with Hunter, especially with Survival Hunter these days, but with a techno bent.

They throw bombs and use techno traps now as Survival now. Survival Hunter just keeps adding more gadgets.

Better question would be, who “liked” mechagon. You and your guild? Keep pretending like it wasn’t part of the reason BFA was one of the most unpopular WoW expansions ranked alongside Shadowlands…

I stopped playing BFA before that patch because of the stupid necklace grind. So I really don’t know if that’s a major reason.

I only went there to unlock the mechagnome allied race later so I don’t know much about it. But that doesn’t represent how popular tinkers would be.

Initially, some folks have thought of making Tinkers a support class. A’la bard. But now we got Evokers. So where does that leave Tinkers?

There is no reason we couldn’t have multiple support classes/specs.

A Tinker is an occupation. I’ll say it again, any class could be a tinker, but a tinker can’t be any class.

You know what other classes are occupations?

Priests.

Druids.

Shamans.

Hunters.

I mean you got me there, but it just still feels like a bit much to me. Perhaps years of Vehicular use in wow has really soured me to the idea of using it in proper combat. even if it wouldn’t be that way but just the idea of having it there just turns me off in such a way that I don’t want it there.

I guess I don’t like the idea of them in a group combat scenario or it doesn’t appeal to me.

With all the technology in the game, I’m surprised there isn’t a tech class. They have robot mounts that could easily be the form you’re in like a druid.

Then the class is dead ok arrival. It needs DPS, support, heals and a tank spec

so be it. we dont need more classes with balance problems anyway. it for sure doesnt need 4 roles.

They’re never going to introduce a new class without a DPS spec simply because it’d make doing solo content a huge pain.
